Hola a todos
No tengo ni esta loco ni via C. He estado buscando en historicos de mensajes
y en google etc y no he encontrado nada. Parece que solo Rogelio tiene idea
de lo que ocurre, ¡ya es algo!.
Pero en la MML hay dos mensajes que al menos describen los mismos problemas,
al menos puede intentar escribir a los responsables de estos mensajes. Van a
continuacion.
Un abrazo

Subject: [MML] "Wheel frame" details on DB E19 (34691) tend to hit crossing
tracks on turnouts
Hello members!
I acquired a DB E19 (the M model 34691 - on eBay) which, although quite a
beautiful model by itself, gives me now some grief because of the wheel
frame detailing!
When giving it a test spin on my M-track layout I found that the wheel
frames (or covers - I don't know the English term - in German the spare
parts are called "Lagerblende") tend to hit the track when running over
turnouts or crossings. The small details on the frames are so low that they
sometimes touch/hit the track and/or maybe the elevated "pukos" when
crossing the turnout. The lok either wobbles or stops altogether. Running it
faster would probably break the details. The gap between the frame and the
crossing track is very very small and there is not much space so even a
small change in the crossing track height will cause the lok to hit the
track.
Has anybody had similar experiences with this model type??
Looking at the pictures in the catalogue, it seems that the E18 model (3368)
has much less junk - eh - details :-) on its frames and they do not come as
low near the track. Perhaps I could replace the originals with the spare
parts of the 3368?
Perhaps someone knowing these two slightly different models could give me an
advice: are the frames really different? I have only the catalogue pictures
to go by. Could I exchange the frames and get rid of the problem? Of course
the model would then not be exactly the E19 but I rather run it than have it
on display.
Thanks,
Dick Mihalovsky

I have the red E19, M. 3769, as well as variants of the E18, M. 3768
(one of which started life as a 3368* Austrian E1118). The
side-pieces which snap into the slots in the chassis do differ
between the E18 series and the E19, but I believe that the Lok
chassis and wheelsets are the same. I run my M.-trains mostly on
M-track, but fortunately I have not experienced the hang-up problems
that you, Dick, and Desmond have described. I did recently
experience a hang-up problem on another E-Lok, the Indusi transducter
was hanging up on turnout pukos, but that turned out to be because I
had incorrectly reinstalled the detailed plastic side-piece after
lubricating the Lok. I did not press the side piece with sufficient
pressure, so the detail-piece had not fully seated in the chassis
slots as it was supposed to. (This was not immediately obvious.)
Fortunately, no damage was done, and once I pressed the detail-piece
fully"home," all was once again well in Modeleisenbahnland.
I will echo D.'s sentiments for good luck with this fine Lok. The
E18/E19 series are among my favorite.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
John
