Scope
Using knowledge to create knowledge is the major concept of the
emerging knowledge society. This way, knowledge becomes sustainable
and a tool to realize the millenium goals. But to achieve this in the
most effective way, we will have to make inventories of knowledge.
ICMCC (International Council on Medical & Care Compunetics) is an
international foundation aiming at being the knowledge centre for
medical and care compunetics, making information on medicine and care
available to patients using compunetics as well as distributing
information on the use of compunetics in medicine and care to patients
and professionals.
Details on the call for papers.
The event will focus on 2 main topics
• Electronic records and patient record access
• Digital Homecare
Authors are encouraged to focus their contributions from a patient's
perspective.
For both record access and digital homecare we would like to see an
emphasis on how the patient will be informed about developments that
will directly influence his life. Especially ethical subjects like how
monitoring, data storage and privacy are handled. This also includes
issues concerning the patient's changing responsibilities vs. the
responsibilities of the clinician.
Topics
Electronic records and patient record access:
• Accessing generic record structures
• Access rights handling (read, write, create, update, lock, delete;
clinicians, nurses, patients)
• Record summaries (subset, extract) versus comprehensive record
structures
• Linking to additional (health-related) information (lifestyle,
wellness; linkage tokens and mechanisms
• Relevant standards inside and outside the healthcare and welfare domain
• Training / education and eLearning aspects (health professionals,
patients, relatives)
• Ownership (from what viewpoint?)
• Legal and ethical aspects (e.g. 3rd party information, parential access)
• Social aspects (especially access by (mentally-)incapaci tated and
(physically- )disabled persons and 3rd party access)
• Security, safety and privacy aspects for access systems
(authentication, authorisation, authenticity, integrity, accountability)
• Benefits of permanent record access (for patients and clinicians,
economic aspects, cost-benefit- relationship, impact on health, impact
on treatment, impact on recovery)
• Access systems (kiosks, internet, cards, sticks)
• Storage and storage system access (central, de-central, local,
distributed, private)
• Long-term archives and self-management of stored information
including data management
• Critical issues and issue resolution
o Errors {e.g. patient and clinician agree the data is wrong];
o Conflicts {one of the patient or clinician feel the data is wrong];

Digital homecare:
• Intelligent health-related devices (including safety and linking
aspects)

Proceedings
Accepted papers will be published in "Medical and Care Compunetics 4"
(IOS Press - "Studies in Health Technology and Informatics" ) indexed
in MEDLINE and available at the conference.
Author Guidelines
• Authors are requested to submit full papers with a maximum of 15
pages A4, before Januray 31, 2007.
• Papers should be sent as attachments to the following address 2007
[at] icmcc [dot] org, mentioning "Event paper" in the subject line.
• Each full paper has to include an abstract which will be published
on the website after acceptance of the paper.
• All contributions (max. 15 pages A4 per paper) will be published in
"Medical and Care Compunetics 4" (IOS Press - "Studies in Health
Technology and Informatics" ). The book will be available at the start
of the event.
• All papers have to be formatted according to the author instructions
(http://www.iospress .nl/authco/ instruction_ crc.html). This is
mandatory. Wrongly formatted papers will be refused. Only Word files
will be accepted.
• To ensure publication in the book "Medical and Care Compunetics 4"
presenters of accepted papers registration for the Event before March
31, 2007 is mandatory.

dos conferencias nacionales paralelas para Alemania y la República
Checa. Los temas principales son: Telemática para la Salud,
Informática para la Salud, Bioinformática, Telemedicina, Ingeniería
Biomédica y tecnologías relacionadas. Este será un evento único dado
que se abordarán las principales disciplinas de la eSalud, contado con
la participación más reconocidos expertos internacionales en cada dominio.
Sería un verdadero placer para los organizadores que considere desde
ya su participación en este evento. Creemos que el anunciar la
conferencia anticipadamente, tiene viarias ventajas para usted. Puede
asistir a las sesiones científicas donde al menos 30 de los más
reconocidos expertos a nivel mundial en los temas de la conferencia
han sido invitados. También tiene la opción de participar de forma más
activa enviando un artículo de investigación que de ser aceptado sería

Therefore, the event is called "eHealth: Combining Health Telematics,
Telemedicine, Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics to the Edge
(CeHR)".

would consider your participation in this event in about one year from
now. Announcing the congress that early might have several advantages.
