GM Gilberto Milos
Today I'm going to show you why move the Queen prematurely in the opening is not a good idea. Following some examples to show what might happen when a player risks himself with the Queen in the beginning.

If you start with this move against a beginner or inexperienced player, probably the game will follow as:

1. e4 e5
2. h5 g6??
3. xe5+ e7 (e7, e7)
4. xh8, winning a rook

ou

1. e4 e5
2. h5 c6, defending a pawn on e5
3. c4 f6??
4. xf7 checkmate

ou ainda

1. e4 e5
2. c4 c6
3. f3 c6??
4. xf7 checkmate
Tip
Do not make superficial moves, praying for the opponent don't note your threat. Bluffs may work well on some card games.
Tip
Avoid to move the same piece many times in the opening. There are several openings defeat examples in the PCT, usually caused by wrong positions of pieces.
But if you play against a expert player, probably the game will follow as:

1. e4 e5
2. h5 c6, defending a pawn on e5
3. c4 g6, defending the mate on f7
4. f3 f6, defending the mate on f7
5. b3 e7, defending a pawn on f7

Black will play g7, castling and will be better developed. White only have moved the bishop and the queen, that is in a dangerous square where it can be future attacked.

White have tried to win the game in the first moves, but Black defended himself and is in a superior position.
Important: There are theoretical positions which Queen move is made in the opening, but it is necessary to know them very well.

Even strong players must follow some basic rules.
Following a recent game played between two 2GMs:
Volokitin, Andrei 2671

Nakamura, Hikaru 2660
1. e4 c5
2. h5? This move, not much recommended, maybe had been done to suprise the opponent or to affect him psycholocally.
The Black player took advantage of his development and of the bad white queen position, winning the game with a strong attack in the opponent's king.

(25) Nakamura, H (2660) - Volokitin, A (2671) [B20]
6th YM Lausanne SUI (3.2), 19.09.2005

1. e4 c5 2. h5 f6 3. h4 c6 4. e2 e5 5. d3 e7 6. g3 d5 7.d2 0-0 8. c3 b5 9. h3 d4 10. c4 e8 11. cxb5 h4 12. f3 b4 13. d1 f5 14. a3 d6 15. axb4 fxe4 16. h5 xh3 17. g3 f6 18.b3+ h8 19. f3 exf3 20. f2 g5 21. xf3 g6 22. xg5 f5 23. xh3 xf3+ 0-1

Tip
It is essential to study opening's theory, but the most important is to know the idea of each one, the middlegames themes and the endgames that probably might happen.

Many amateurs get to develop a very good positions against MIs and GMs, but lose because they don't know how to take advantage of it during the game. Therefore, tactics and endgames trainings are vital before opening studies.

To offer an adequate chess tactics and endgames training we develop the Personal Chess Trainer software, that besides a database of more than 6 thousand positions, is based on repetition and memorization of key concepts (patterns) and positions. It's the key to reach the success.
