Aquaculture Facility Certification
Certifier Training Course
May 15 - 19 • Surabaya, Indonesia
Following the World Aquaculture Society meeting in
Bali, Indonesia from May 9 – 13.
The five day course will prepare you to become an accredited
Aquaculture Certification Council, Inc. (ACC) certifier. You will
learn how to inspect farms, hatcheries and processing plants and
prepare them to meet HACCP regulations for food safety, environmental
sustainability and social responsibility.
Registration Fee:
Certifier Candidate - U.S. $1,800
Observer — U.S. $500
HACCP - $200
Course Registration Deadline: April 15
Certifier Application Deadline*: April 1
Includes: Field trip, handouts, coffee breaks, and graduation dinner
Aquaculture Certification Council Inc.’s Certifier Training Course is
open to self-employed individuals and those who represent companies,
associations or institutions. Certifier accreditation is not
transferable to individuals who did not successfully complete the
course. Class size is limited to 40 participants.
Certifier Application - To be considered for participation, certifier
candidates must meet the qualifications of five years of technical
experience on an aquaculture farm, in a hatchery or processing plant
and have at least a Bachelor’s degree. He/she must be of good
character and have at least three references. To apply, complete and
return a Certifier Application Form. Apply online at
http://www.aquaculturecertification.org/beacert.html or download a
printed form and send the completed form to the ACC office at
aquacert@... . The free application requests information on
applicants’ education, professional experience and references. Even
though it only requests your highest education, please include all
degrees earned and HACCP courses completed. ACC reserves the right to
make final determination as to candidate eligibility for this course.
Observer Application - Up to 15 participants will be able to audit the
Certifier Training Course for information but not accreditation.
Likely candidates include representatives from industry, governments
and regulatory agencies.
Program
The five-day program features four full days of study sessions; field
trips to a shrimp farm and processing plant for on-site training and a
final test. In addition, certifiers will enjoy a poolside Graduation
Dinner on August 14. HACCP certificates from Surefish will be
awarded as well as the Aquaculture Certification Council certifier
certificate to those who apply for both. All programs will be
presented in English only. A schedule for the course will be sent to
applicants. The course will be held at the Shangri-Li Hotel in
Surabaya. More information will be sent out at a later date.
