SINGLE CRYSTAL X-RAY DIFFRACTION TECHNICIAN (ref. XRAYas)
A position is available at the Research Support Area of the Institut Català
d’Investigació Química
(ICIQ) as technician at the X-ray Diffraction Unit. The X-ray Diffraction Unit
is dedicated to give
complete scientific and technological support to the different research groups
at the ICIQ in the
areas of crystallization, single crystal X-ray structure determination and
powder X-ray diffraction.
The X-ray Diffraction unit possesses state of the art single crystal X-ray
diffraction and powder Xray
diffraction systems. The selected candidate will develop the following tasks:
• Crystallization of samples for single crystal X-ray structure determination.
• Single crystal X-ray structure determination.
• Structure refinement.
• Maintenance and calibration of the available devices.
Requirements for the candidate:
• Ph. D. degree in science or Bachelor degree with experience in an X-ray
diffraction
laboratory.
• Experience in single crystal X-ray structure determination and refinement.
• English (oral and written).
• Experience in the crystallization of organic or metallorganic compounds will
be positively
evaluated.
• Experience in the maintenance and calibration of X-ray diffraction devices
will be
positively evaluated.
