called Hanamatsuri in Japanese, honoring the birth of the historical Buddha
Shakyamuni over 2,500 years ago.

Please bring an offering of a flower(s) for the baby buddha.

Includes a special visual reading and discussion of the birth story.

This also the 8th year anniversary of the founding of our BFF of Ct's religious
community All friends and guests are invited. Great for families

04/12. EASTER. topic to be announced. Presented by Jeff Zyjeski.

04/19. We Are What We Think. How do our intentions and thoughts shape our inner
and outer realities? Learn what we can do to remold our lives through various
daily practices and especially by following the Nembutsu Way. The scriptural
inspiration for this discussion is the Dhammapada: the Sayings of the Buddha,
verse one, "We are what we think -with our thoughts we make the world."
Presented by Susan Aranoff.

04/26. Attitudes of Gratitude: How To Give And Receive Joy Every Day Of Your
Life. Gratitude for small things enriches us beyond measure. It helps us focus
on the positive in our lives and what we focus on multiplies and a regular
practice of gratitude can help make us happier. From various short vignettes by
M.J. Ryan which are correlated with basic Shin teachings. Presented by Juliane
Dean.

Our New England Institute of Buddhist Studies' is offering a new 3 month course,
If the Buddha Dated: A Guide to Spiritual Relationships which is offered in
April - June, meeting just once a month. See schedule online.

keep teaching the Buddha Dharma to Connecticut and help continue the growth the
NASBA affiliated community throughout North America. Supporting Membership funds
are separate from the Capital Campaign Fund which is earmarked solely for the
creation of our new dharma center. However, any "left over" Membership funds
will be transferred to the Capital Fund. Join or rejoin us by becoming a member
and collaborate with our uniquely American Shin Buddhist community.

gathering or online on an incremental monthly basis.
