Nick Carter was supposed to be in New York this week, meeting with possible
producers for his next solo record, and more importantly, starting to shoot
scenes for his next film, "Blood on a Happy Face," a sort of quick-paced
"Reservoir Dogs"-like action drama in which the Backstreet Boy would have played
a gangster turned narc. But Carter's trip has been nixed, and film company
Platform Entertainment said that the project is now not going forward at all.
Platform is the same company that cast Carter as well as former Dream member
Melissa Schuman in its yet-to-be-released horror film, "The Hollow." In the
meantime, the company is considering Carter for its next flick, "The Brew,"
about a college senior who inherits a haunted brewery in which human blood is
being turned into beer. "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"/ "Poltergeist" director Tobe
Hooper is slated to direct, and shooting starts in Los Angeles in October. ...

Melissa Williams, should she find herself single again -

Moves' game, because she features high on his list of celebrity crushes. But the
23-year-old star will have to fight off competition from movie hunk Paul Walker

beautiful woman. The only downside is that she's dating Paul Walker!" He added,

A friend of mine heard on of the songs he recorded like a month ago with Tommy
Lee. And, she said it's AMAZING. She said it's totally different from Now or
Never. I can't wait to hear it! She went to The Brass Monkey and he was in his
car listening to it. So, she stood by his car and listened to it with him. I
don't know how we could hear it, although I really want to! Nick was in the bar
first.
Then, at like 2 am, he got into his car. She was leaving and went to say good
bye to him. He asked her if she wanted to hear something and she said yea. So,
he played his new song. He had just finished recording it that same day and she
was only like the 5th person to hear it that day. She said it was so good she
almost cried. I'm really excited to hear what his new sound is like. She said
it's nothing like Now Or Never."

Mark Pitta, a reporter for KTVU in California, was able to do a sit-down
interview with Kevin Richardson on the set of 'Chicago.' Pitta asked Kevin how
being in the Backstreet Boys contrasts doing theatre. Kevin said he's glad that
the group became so huge that they are enabled to do solo things like this, and
all the guys in the group are benefiting. Pitta then asked if they'd ever drop
the 'Boys' out of Backstreet Boys. Kevin said the Beastie Boys, Pet Shop Boys,
and Beach Boys haven't done so after all these years and neither will the
Backstreet Boys. He then discusses how 'Chicago' the movie came out right when
he was rehearsing for the Broadway musical. He says he found it interesting how
he and Richard Gere approached various aspects of the character Billy Flynn in
contrasting ways. Kevin did say however that his take on Flynn wasn't really
influenced that much by Gere's, because he didn't want to borrow or steal
anything from him. He wanted to make the role his own. Kevin then
told Pitta his daily routine. He works out at the gym, performs his role Billy
Flynn at the San Francisco Golden Gate Theatre, and then writes/produces music
for some of the artists he knows in California. Kevin'll be in San Francisco for
three weeks and then heads to London to do the same thing there. Watch the video

Robert Carter, father of Marathon residents Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his
brother Aaron, another pop sensation, landed in jail Thursday night on a charge
of domestic battery after allegedly pushing his wife in a shower, bruising her
head.
The arrest followed a heated argument over the division of property, according
to a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office report.
The report says that Carter, 50, and his wife went for a ride in his racing boat
during the day, then had dinner at Burdine’s Waterfront at the end of 15th
Street. Then they returned to their home, and he "started yelling at everyone."
A witness statement says that when the Carters returned to their house from
dinner, Robert Carter said he noticed photos of Aaron, the younger son, were
missing. "He then became angry and loud," the statement says.
Robert Carter allegedly threw a coffeepot and other things at his wife, then
entered a moving truck and started tossing boxes out of it.
His statement says he "got mad because [she] took things that did not belong to
her. She got upset and made believe that I was beating her and calling people to
be a witness to that."
However, in her statement, she said he followed her into the house and she
locked herself in a bedroom and he kicked the door in. She then locked herself
in a bathroom, but he kicked in that door, too, then shoved her in the shower,
"causing her to fall and hit the back of her head."
Robert Carter remained jailed early Friday afternoon in lieu of $5,000 bond.

NICK CARTER
A diferencia con Justin Timberlake, que tiene el corazón dividido entre blanco y
negro, Nick Carter es el blanco de todas las miradas posibles dirigidas a su
música y, por supuesto, las de sus fans.
Con Bryan Adams o Bruce Springsteen como puntos de referencia reconocidos y el
rock sinfónico de Journey como principal debilidad, el tono general de "Now Or
Never" es el de pop rock sofisticado, rítmico, bailable, y la balada, aunque
puntualmente se desvíe por otros derroteros.
En el disco, por ejemplo, también puedes escuchar un glitter rock festivo como
en el caso de "Girls In The Usa", que acompañado del rapper y ragamuffin, Mr
Vegas y un coro bastante glam, funciona. "Blow Your Mind" comienza con un ritmo
tecno machacón e "Is It Saturday Yet" se acompaña de coros más soul e incluso
rapeados.
Pero donde mejor brilla el feeling de Carter es entre el candor y la enjundia
rock que pone en baladas como "Miss America", "Heart Whitout A Home(I´ll Be
Yours )" o "Who Needs The World", con un esquema similar a "Luka", de Suzanne
Vega, o el "I Got You", que hasta en el título recuerda a los hermanos Finn de
"Crowed House/Split Enz".
Nick ha compuesto la mitad del álbum. Rodeado de estrellas tanto en Backstreet
Boys como en su propia familia, su hermano pequeño es Aaron Carter, Nick no
inventa nada nuevo pero es el perfecto eslabón si lo que estás buscando, más
allá del poster en tu habitación, es una alternativa al dance y a unas
composiciones originales que no encuentras en OT.
Ambos, Justin y Carter, nacieron de pié, son ricos, jóvenes, famosos, guapos,
tienen canciones, están bien preparados para bailar y componer, su técnica vocal
es de academia, su club de fans les mima y las productoras de cine están
esperando que lean guiones para futuras películas. Desde luego, son estrellas de
la temporada en MTV. Son los triunfadores del nuevo milenio. ¿Alguien da más?

Al: This is Big Al. This is Chris Kirkpatrick, Kelly Rhaspberry. On the Kidd

K: Howie, I was bragging that I had 2 celebrities phone numbers in my cell
phone, yours and Dr. Phil's. And Chris Kirkpatrick is on with us this
morning as a guest host and it was His idea to call you.
Chris, Al, and Guy: Ohh!

Howie: He's so crazy. He's crazy.
K: Chris you come on you say it.
Chris: Howie. It was Kelly's idea.
Howie:I know it was your idea, Chris. I know you.
Chris: What are you talking abo...it really wasn't! I swear Howie!!!!
K and Al and Guy talk at the same time and laugh.
Chris: I'm feeling guilty because I'm like...if somebody did this to me. I'd
kill em.
K: Chris! I can play back the tape!
Howie: You know I'm over here on the West Coast too, it's like 5 in the
morning.
K: Oh! Awww!
Chris: cackles really really freaking loudly. the precious chris!laugh.
*melts*
K: We thought you were in Florida, I'm so sorry!
Chris: See! Who's apologzing? Whose idea was it?
K: Chriiiis.
Guy: Kelly said, I was talking to him last night he's in Orlando!
K: I did not.
Chris (in hick voice): She said, I drunk dialed him a couple times. He loves
it!
K: I did do that a couple times.
Al: You know, to get Chris back you could just broadcast HIS phone number on
the radio.
Chris and Kelly: *cackle*
Chris: Hey, don't forget 555... I'll help you out.
Guy: Yeah. So Howie how you doing?
Howie: I'm good, man.
K: I feel so bad that we woke you up. Chris talk to him. You know him. We
just. Bother him.
Al: Howie, you got a trick over there dawg?
Howie: What? What's that?
Al: A trick, you got one over there?
Howie: *laughs* No..
Al: Let me talk to him..
Howie: *laughs nervously*
K: Oh, stop it, Al. Don't harrass him we woke him up. Chris do you want to
interview Howie as the host today?
Chris: Yeah. Howie, I just want to say. Next time I see you...don't forget.
It really was Kelly's idea. And not mine cause I know you're gonna give me
that little...ticked off face.
Al: But in all honesty. Chris did say that if he gets POed "I can take him."
Chris: Oh! That's easy.
Al: Yeah.
Chris: Hey, I've. He knows. Don't talk about Roxy fight nights.
Howie: Oh *giggles* He wanted to take on me and AJ. Both
Chris: *cackles* That is so...okay, that's true.
Howie: *giggles some more*
Chris: We frequent the same clubs and uh. There's a club in Orlando that has
a fight night. Where you just get in and box for fun.
Al: Oh really?
Chris: Yeah. I was gonna get in and Howie said "No, you'll just hit AJ
that's not fair."
K: You got a problem with AJ?
(There is a long silent pause from Chris were Howie is still giggling
quietly in the phone)
Chris: SO anyways... Hey, Howie we're really sorry to wake you up. Why don't
you go back to bed buddy?
Guy: So you guys like didn't have a big dance off like Justin and Britney?
Chris:....dance? No, we've tried it. We've tried it. But we've been too
drunk to get up off our a..
K: Oh, stop it. Howie what are you doing?
She asks Howie why all the BSB sites are gone and he starts to answer but
this is were the tape ran out and mom had to flip it over so I didn't hear
it.
Chris: She (Kelly) has the Backstreet Boy action figures fighting the NSYNC
puppets. It's a battle royale.
Howie and Kelly laugh.
K: And the Backstreet Boys win!
Howie: That's my girl!
Chris says something I can't understand.
K: I love Howie, he knows this. I'm his little stalker.
Al: Oh my gosh.
Chris: You think?
K: But I don't bother you too much. I'm the best kind of stalker. Cause I
don't bother you too terrible much.
Chris: You know she wanted to call you on the air so you'd think she's a
little famous too and you might think of ever calling down here and
K: Oh stop it.
Chris: Tell the truth!
K: He knows I'm famous.
Guy: You know, Kelly. We've been on the phone with Howie D for 4 minutes now
nad you stillhaven't told him you're getting married.
K: Oh, Howie yeah!
Al: Break the news to him.
Howie: Oh! You're breaking my heart!
K: I couldn't wait for you any longer.
Howie: No way.
Chris: He sounds happy now.
K: I know.
LMAO
Howie starts complaining about not getting invited yet and then they start
joking about her wanting him to sing in the wedding blah blah blah...
Howie: Want me to sing an NSYNC song in the wedding?
lol Then they say good bye to him.
Al: You could take him, dawg.
Chris: Howie? We went to school together. He's a small kid. That's not
really a good, fair fight.
K: Yeah, he's a small person.
Chris: That's why I told him AND AJ to get in the fight. *cackles*
Al: Take on both.
Chris: Now the other guy. Kevin. Kevin's a big kid. He's tough.
I love that he calls Kevin who is about his age a kid. lol Now, I'll leave
out the things Kelly says about Nick because...they aren't very nice and I
know I have some Nick loving friends.

More Backstreet Solos

If you are dying to find out what the Backstreet Boys have been up to since
their last album, here is something to whet your curiosity.
First of all, stop the speculation that they are breaking up. The truth is, they
are going solo with their music nowadays. Four of the five members of Backstreet
Boys are now recording their solo LPs, which would imply that they won't be
releasing a new album as a group anytime soon. However, the 'boys' have
announced that they have no plans to quit the group just yet.
"It's important to point out that the group has not disbanded," Brian Littrell's
attorney Jordan Keller assured the music fans. "They certainly intend to record
as a group in the future, they just don't know when."
As you faithful fans probably know, Nick Carter released his first solo album
"Now Or Never" last year. Currently working with his producer Tommy Lee and
co-writing his songs, Nick Carter is showing a tendency for delving into rock
music. A.J. Mclean too, is going in the rock direction for his solo music.
While Nick and A.J. are indulging in rock, Howie Dorough is exploring his
talents in Latin music. He will be producing his songs in both English and
Spanish. He is currently collaborating with veterans such as Emilio Estefan and
Steven Morales, who are also the producers for artistes like Enrique Iglesias
and Christina Aguilera.
For Brian Littrell, he is hoping to integrate gospel music into his musical
undertaking, giving gospel music a fresh dimension amidst the pop music today.
Brian, who grew up singing in his church, sees this as his desired direction in
his musical path.
"There's a wide range in Christian music," Keller said. "From Michael W. Smith
to choirs, there's a lot of room to work with."

Moves game. To celebrate, the boys will be holding a one-off concert in New York
