El glosario de CMMI define Software Engineering, o Ingenier=EDa de Software=
como:
(1) The application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable
approach to the development, operation, and maintenance
of software. (2) The study of approaches as in (1). (See also
"hardware engineering," and "systems engineering.")
Y define Systems Engineering, o Ingenier=EDa de Sistemas, como:
The interdisciplinary approach governing the total technical
and managerial effort required to transform a set of
customer needs, expectations, and constraints into a
product solution and to support that solution throughout the
product's life. (See also "hardware engineering" and
"software engineering.")
=BFCu=E1l es la diferencia? Ingenier=EDa de Sistemas contempla la creaci=F3=
n de sistemas que pueden o no contener software. Pens=E1, por ejemplo, en s=
oluciones manuales a procesos de negocio. O en proyectos de defensa, que su=
elen incluir el dise=F1o y construcci=F3n de componentes de hardware y de s=
oftware.
La Ingenier=EDa de Software es m=E1s restrictiva, y se refiere s=F3lo al de=
sarrollo, operaci=F3n y mantenimiento de software. No contempla necesariame=
nte otros componentes.
