Optics in the Southeast 2007
October 4-5 in Greenville , SC

The 2007 meeting of Optics in the Southeast will be held on Thursday and Friday, October 4 and 5, 2007.  The Center for Optical Materials Science and Engineering Technologies (COMSET) at Clemson University will host the meeting.  Optics in the Southeast showcases optics research, programs, and other initiatives occurring in the universities, industries, laboratories, and organizations in the Southeast Region.  The regional forum provides an excellent opportunity for students to present their latest research either as an oral or poster presentation.  Traditionally some 40% of the presentations have come from students. Presentations by representatives from industry, government, research laboratories and universities describing new initiatives, programs, and directions are most welcome.

Technical and Exhibit Program

Abstracts are to be submitted to jballat@clemson. edu electronically by Monday, August 20, 2007.  Submissions need include the title, name of authors, and their affiliation( s), an abstract no longer that 250 words, status (high school, undergraduate, or graduate) and an indication of whether or not an oral or poster presentation is preferred. Registration fees are as follows:

            Full Registration: $150

            Student Registration: $25

            Table Top Exhibit: $500
