The approval was given by ICP-ANACOM to the procedures governing the amateur and
amateur satellite services, as set out by Decree Law n.º 53/2009, March the 2nd,
relative to Regulations for Amateur Radiocommunications in Portugal (ruling from
June the 1st, 2009 on).

While establishing a communication, the amateur must observe the following
procedures:

a) Identifying the station's call sign (CS) in the beginning and also at the end
of any call (transmission);

b) When using a transceiver from a non-proprietary station, the amateur must
identify the signal according to a), using the operated station's call sign,
followed by his own station's call sign;

c) If the station in use is a mobile one, the amateur must identify the
transmission with the station's call sign, followed by the word "mobile", right
after, and point the present location of the station under operation.
In alternative to the word "mobile" the symbols "/M" can be used in addition to
the station's call sign.

d) If the station is a portable one, the amateur must identify the transmission
with the station's call sign, followed by the word "portable", right after, and
point the present location of the station under operation.
In alternative to the word "portable" the symbols "/P" can be used in addition
to the station's call sign.

Anytime a foreign amateur establish communications within the Portuguese
territory under a "CEPT" license, the original station's call sign must be
preceded by the prefix:

a) "CT7" if the operated station is located anywhere inside mainland PORTUGAL
borders;

b) "CT8" if the operated station is located in one of the AZORES archipelago
Islands;

c) "CT9" if the operated station is located in one of the MADEIRA archipelago
Islands.

Anytime a foreign amateur establish communications within the Portuguese
territory under a "CEPT novice" license, the original station's call sign must
be preceded by the prefix:

a) "CS7" if the operated station is located anywhere inside mainland PORTUGAL
borders;

b) "CS8" if the operated station is located in one of the AZORES archipelago
Islands;

c) "CS9" if the operated station is located in one of the MADEIRA archipelago
Islands.
