In Olen Gunnlaugson's article, four accounts of intersubjective theory are explored as a means for providing distinctions that support the development of second-person approaches to the emerging field of contemplative education. Read this article in the Integral Review June issue >>
Olen's graduate research, which focuses on applying and building upon Scharmer's four fields of conversation within transformative, contemplative and integral education contexts, has been fully funded by both Masters and Doctorate Canadian Graduate Scholarships from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He is presently co-editing a book on Integral Education (Suny Press) with Jonathan Reams and Sean Esbjorn-Hargens.
Olen is also part of the faculty presenting at the Integral Education Seminar to be held this summer at Whidbey Institute In Washington State August 2-7, 2009.

Traditionally, science has regarded the universe as made up of inert matter and empty space. Our friend, Duane Elgin, has found a way to bring together extraordinary evidence from cosmology, biology and physics to show that the universe is not dead but rather uniquely alive, an insight which, he shows, is in harmony with all of the world's major spiritual traditions. In this, his newest book, he explores how this view radically transforms our concept of ourselves, our place in the cosmos, and the evolutionary trajectory of the human family. The non-living view of the universe has led to rampant materialism and global environmental degradation. To transform our planetary crises we need to move past a paradigm of separation and exploitation and learn to live sustainably on the Earth, in harmony with one another, and in communion with the living universe. We are beings of cosmic connection who are learning to live in a living universe.
