DEMONSTRATION STARTING FROM DANISH EMBASSY – 55 SLOANE STLONDON SW1 – FRI 3RD FEB 2006
The challenge for Muslims to either put up or shut up, to accept insults to the Messengers of Allah or to condemn such blasphemy, to abide by the law of the land or call for the Shari’ah has been made loudly by various newspapers and magazines in Europe reminiscent of the crusades of old. European countries have gathered together side by side, shoulder to shoulder, confronting the common enemy, a day after the state of the union address by George Bush where he said that so-called radical Islam needed to be defeated. As if the curtailing of the right of Muslims to wear Islamic dress, to support their brothers and sisters when atrocities are committed against them and to quote the divine text (as in the Sheikh Abu Hamza case) were not enough Muslims are now required to remain silent when the Messenger Muhammad (saw)’s honour is attacked. Contrary to popular belief however, far from silencing the Muslim masses this latest episode in the war against Islam and Muslims is probably the issue which will unite all Muslims in condemnation and also turn the intimidated into the brave, for if Muslims are not able to defend the honour of Rasoul Allah (saw) then which sanc tity are they going to rise to defend?
We therefore call on Muslims everywhere to demonstrate their anger, to raise their voices in condemnation and to forbid the evil of man made law and its proponents this Friday 3rd of February 2006, when we will be marching from the Danish embassy to the Norwegian, French, German, Italian and Spanish embassies insha’allah. The cartoons that appeared in the newspapers and which insult the Messenger Muhammad (saw) carry the death penalty in Islam for the perpetrators, since the Prophet said ‘Whoever insults a Prophet kill him’ [For example in the narration collected by Al-Haakim, upon the authority of Hussain Bin Ali (ra)] In this respect Muslims do not make any distinctions between any of the Prophets of Allah (SWT) and so this would also apply to any insults levelled against Essa (as) (Jesus) or Musa (as) (Moses) or Ibraheem (as) (Abraham) etc…Allah (SWT) sent his M essengers and Prophets to mankind to guide them from the darkness of following their own whims and desires into the light and beauty of obedience and subservience to him.
Muslims take their ideology and belief very seriously and any insult to any Messengers and Prophets will never be tolerated, in fact the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said that we must love Allah (SWT) and his Messenger more than anyone else, including our parents and even ourselves. The Islamic verdict on individual or individuals who insult any Prophet needs to be passed by an Islamic Court and implemented by the Islamic State, rather than individuals carrying out the verdict themselves. However, sadly we find that we live in an era where there is not one country in the world implementing the Shari’ah, rather the 55 Muslim countries in existence today all implement non-Islamic law and their insults to the Messenger Muhammad (saw) are worse than what appears in the newspapers since they insult the Messenger Muhammad (saw) every day by ignoring his commands, since they ensure that Muslim s are kept in subservience to the West and they do not lift a finger to defend the lives, honour and property of Muslims being violated in Iraq, Palestine, Chechnya, Afghanistan etc… Clearly were it not for the fact that they fear being overthrown by an angry Muslim population, not a word would have been mentioned about the current incident from the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Pakistan, Kuwait etc…
The gathering of non-Muslims against Muslims is something which has been foretold by the Messenger Muhammad (saw) and the ease with which non-Muslims today are able to insult and ridicule Islam and Muslims is testimony to the fact that any fear of repercussions from Muslims or any consequential affect on the interests of the European countries is considered irrelevant today. The division of Muslim countries in factions, the implementation of man made law, the subservience of Muslim countries to the West are some of the reasons. In addition the love of this life and the hatred of death have contributed to any fear which the non-Muslims used to have from Muslims being taken out of their hearts and rather fear of the non-Muslims has entered the hearts of Muslims.
We, the followers of Ahl us-Sunnah wal Jamma call upon all Mosques to rally their congregations this Friday (after prayers) to come to this significant demonstration. We ask Muslims everywhere to stand for defending the honour of the Messengers and Prophets and to strive to prevent those who worship man and man made law insulting Islam and Muslims in the manner they have been doing. O Muslims, let this incident be the start of redoubling our efforts to establish the Shari’ah on Earth so that the Khalifah can once again be the shield behind which the Muslims defend themselves and from behind which we can eradicate man made law.

As we are beginning our new year with the great month of Muharram in which there is the great day of `Ashourah that the Muslims fast in revival of the practice of the Prophet Mousa alaihi as-Salam, I thought sharing with my dear brothers and sisters some important facts regarding voluntary fasting.
Fasting in general and voluntary fasting in particular is a great worship of all time. Fasting is not restricted to Ramadhan, it is an act of worship that can be [and should be in some cases] performed at any time and at any place except when not recommended. Indeed, it is a worship that draws the believer closer to Allah and closer to perfection.
In prayer most of us pray Sunna [supererogatory/optional/voluntary] prayer before or after mandatory prayer, called Rawatib, such as four Rak`at before and two after, two after Maghrib and `Isha and the two rak`at of Fajr. These are prayers we pray before or after a mandatory prayer.
Similarly, there is a mandatory fasting and that is in Ramadhan. Just as the one performs the Rawatib before and after the Fardh prayer one should fast before and after Ramadhan, and just as the Rawatib were set by the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam the in some specific manner and amount, the Nafl [optional] Fasting was also set by the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. In this short article we shall review the fasting of some days that were recommended by the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam.
1- Six days of the month of Shawwal: Abu Ayyoub reported that the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadhan and then follows it by fasting six days during the month of Shawwal will be rewarded as if he had fasted the entire year. [Muslim, at-Tirmithi, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawood and Ahmad by way of Jabir]. These days can be anytime during the month of Shawwal except the first day because it is unlawful to fast the day of Eid. These days do not have to be at beginning of the month nor do they have to be consecutive. Hence, Muslims should seize this opportunity and fast these six days to get Allah's reward.
Why the fasting of six days of Shawal after Ramadhan equates that of the whole year? Some `Ulamaa' say that the good deed is rewarded ten times. Thus fasting six days is like fasting 60 days, added to 30 days of Ramadhan times 10 (i.e. 300) it makes it a year.
2- The day of `Arafah: This is for those who are not performing the Hajj (pilgrimage) [1]. Abu Qatadah said : the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said: "Fasting on the day of `Arafah is an expiation [of sins] for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it and the fasting the day of `Aashuraa' is an expiation for the year preceding it. [Muslim, an-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawood].
3- Fasting three days of every month: `Amr Ibn Sharhabeel said : A man came to the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, and said : O Messenger of Allah! what do you say in a man who fasts the whole year [time], on this the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said : I wish he would not eat anything during the year, he said what about two thirds of the year, he replied "more", he said what about half of it, he said more and then said : Shall I not inform you of what takes away the whispers of the chest, they said yes tell us, he said " fasting three days from every month. [an-Nasaa'i; Sahih] Abu Tharr Al-Ghefari said: "The Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said "Whoever fasts from every month three days, it is like fasting the whole year, then Allah revealed what backs this in His book "Whoever comes with a good deed, he is rewarded ten folds", one day for ten. [Ibn Majah and at-Tirmithi].
Abu Tharr Al-Ghefari said: "The Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said "O Abu Tharr! if you fast three days of every month, then fast the 13th, the 14th and the 15th [these are call the al-ayaam al-beedh, the white days]". [Ahmad, an-Nasaa'i and at- Tirmithi; Sahih]
4- Fasting Mondays and Thursdays: `Aa'ishah said : The Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa salam, used to fast Mondays and Thursdays". [an-Nasaa'i; Sahih] Abu Hurairah reported that the most the Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa salam, would fast would be Monday and Thursday. He was asked about that and he said: "The deeds of people are presented to Allah on every Monday and Thursday. Allah forgives every Muslim except for those who are deserting each other. He says: "leave them for later." [Ahmad; Hasan]
5- Fasting Tasu'a and `Aashuraa': Tasu`aa' and `Aashuraa' are respectively the ninth and the tenth day of the month of Muharram. Ibn Abbas reported: "The Prophet came to Madinah and found the Jews fasting the day of Ashura. He asked them: "Why are you fasting this day?" They said: "This is a great day. Allah saved Mousa (Moses) and the tribes of Israel from their enemies on this day and therefore Mousa fasted on it. "The Prophet said: "We have more of a right to Mousa than you." So he fasted on that day also and ordered the people to fast on that day." [al-Bukhari and Muslim].
When the Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa salam, fasted the day of Ashura, the people told him that this day is a day that Jews and Christians honor. The Prophet said: "When the following year comes, Allah willing, we shall fast both the ninth and the tenth day of Muharram (that is to be different from the Jews and the Christians.)" The Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa salam, died before the following year."[Muslim].
6- Fasting during the month of Muharram: Muharram is the first month of the Islamic year. The month of Muharram is the first month of the lunar year. Abu Hurairah reported: "I asked the Prophet: "Which prayer is best after the obligatory prayers?" He said: "Prayer during the middle of the night." I asked: "Which fast is best after the fast of Ramadhan?" He said: "Fasting during the month of Muharram." [Muslim].
7-Fasting during the month of Sha`baan Sha`baan is the month before Ramadan Sha`baan `Aa'isha said: "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa salam, completing the fast of a month as he did for Ramadhan, and I have never seen him fasting so much as he would in Sha`baan." [al-Bukhari and Muslim] Fasting of a woman in her husband's presence. Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said : "A woman is not to fast [even] for one day while her husband is present except with his permission, unless it is during Ramadhaan." [al-Bukhari, Muslim and Ahmad] Intention for voluntary fasting As opposed to Ramadan, the intention does not have to be made before dawn. The person can intend fasting [and start fasting] after dawn any time [even after noon] given that he did not eat anything. `Aa'ishah said : The Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, came to us one day and said, "Do you have any [food]?" We said "No". He said: Therefore, I am Fasting". [Muslim and Abu Dawood] Breaking the fast when fasting voluntarily and making up voluntary fasting Ummu Hani reported that the Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, entered her room during the day of the conquest of Makkah. He was offered something to drink and he drank from it. Then he offered it to me [Ummu Hani] and I said :" I am fasting". The Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said : The one who is fasting voluntarily is in charge of himself. If you wish you may fast and if you wish you may break your fast". [Ahmad, ad-Daraqutni, al-Baihaqi, al-Hakim and at-Tirmithi]. In another narration, Ummu Hani said I am fasting but I dislike to return your leftover. He said: If it [the day you are fasting] is a making up for a day of Ramadhan then make up another day for it, and if it is a voluntary fasting day, then if you wish make it up and if you wish not don't" [Ahmad and Abu Dawood] `Aishah said : The Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, came to us one day and said, "Do you have any [food]?" We said "No". He said: Therefore, I am Fasting and then he came to me after that day and I was gifted some Hais [a kind of food], so I left it for him, and he used to like al-Hais. She said :" O Messenger of Allah! we were gifted some Hais and I left some for you. He said" Bring it closer to me, though I woke up with the intention of fasting, I will eat from it. Then he said: The example of the voluntary fasting is like the man who takes out money [to give] for charity, if he likes he give it and if he likes he keep it. [Ibn Majah; Hasan]
Conclusion It is clear that voluntary fasting was something very common among the Sahaba and in the previous nations of believers and the Prophets Dawood and Mousa alaihim as-salaam are good examples. Indeed it is the way of the Believers that we should strive to follow.

My name is Katherine Jashinski. I am a SPC in the Texas Army National Guard. I was born in Milwaukee, WI and I am 22 years old. When I graduated high school I moved to Austin, TX to attend college. At age 19 I enlisted in the Guard as a cook because I wanted to experience military life. When I enlisted I believed that killing was immoral, but also that war was an inevitable part of life and therefore, an exception to the rule.
After enlisting I began the slow transformation into adulthood. Like many teenagers who leave their home for the first time, I went through a period of growth and soul searching. I encountered many new people and ideas that broadly expanded my narrow experiences. After reading essays by Bertrand Russel and traveling to the South Pacific and talking to people from all over the world, my beliefs about humanity and its relation to war changed. I began to see a bigger picture of the world and I started to reevaluate everything that I had been taught about war as a child. I developed the belief that taking human life was wrong and war was no exception. I was then able to clarify who I am and what it is that I stand for.
The thing that I revere most in this world is life, and I will never take another person's life.
Just as others have faith in God, I have faith in humanity
I have a deeply held belief that people must solve all conflicts through peaceful diplomacy and without the use of violence. Violence only begets more violence.
Because I believe so strongly in non-violence, I cannot perform any role in the military. Any person doing any job in the Army, contributes in some way to the planning, preparation or implementation of war.
For eighteen months, while my CO status was pending, I have honored my commitment to the Army and done everything that they asked of me. However, I was ordered to Ft. Benning last Sunday to complete weapons training in preparation to deploy for war.
Now I have come to the point where I am forced to choose between my legal obligation to the Army and my deepest moral values. I want to make it clear that I will not compromise my beliefs for any reason. I have a moral obligation not only to myself but to the world as a whole, and this is more important than any contract.
I have come to my beliefs through personal, intense, reflection and study. They are everything that I am and all that I stand for. After much thought and contemplation about the effect my decision will have on my future, my family, the possibility of prison, and the inevitable scorn and ridicule that I will face, I am completely resolute.
I will exercise my every legal right not pick up a weapon, and to participate in war effort. I am determined to be discharged as a CO, and while undergoing the appeals process; I will continue to follow orders that do not conflict with my conscience until my status has been resolved. I am prepared to accept the consequences of adhering to my beliefs.
What characterizes a conscientious objector is their willingness to face adversity and uphold their values at any cost. We do this not because it is easy or popular, but because we are unable to do otherwise. thank you.

5:65If only the people of the Book had believed and been

67O Apostle! proclaim the (Message) which hath been sent to thee from
thy Lord.If thou didst not thou wouldst not have fulfilled and proclaimed His mission: and Allah will defend thee from men (who mean mischief).For Allah guideth not those who reject faith.
68Say: "O People of the Book! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law the Gospel and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord."It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy.But sorrow thou not over (these) people without Faith.
69Those who believe (in the Qur'an) those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures) and the Sabians and the Christians any who believe in Allah and the Last Day and work righteousness on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

*Note:[Those who follow Quran,those who follow uncorrupted part of previous scriptures,an important point here is that Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is prophesised in previous scriptures.If Jews & Christians follow those uncorrupted parts of scriptures completely then they’ll eventually believe in Quran but if they don’t follow previous scriptures completely while following only the basic beliefs along with it maintaining righteousness then they are people of the book/ahle-kitab whose women can be married to muslim men.

3:199And there are certainly among the people of the Book those who believe in Allah in the revelation to you and in the revelation to them bowing in humility to Allah: they will not sell the signs of Allah for a miserable gain! for them is a reward with their Lord and Allah is swift in account.
Believing Christians who later accept Prophethood of Muhammad peace be upon him again signifies they followed uncorrupted part of scriptures.
5:82Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say: "We are Christians:" because amongst these are men devoted to learning and
men who have renounced the world and they are not arrogant.
83And when they listen to the revelation received by the Apostle thou wilt see their eyes overflowing with tears for they recognize the truth: they pray: "Our Lord! we believe; write us down among the witnesses.
84"What cause can we have not to believe in Allah and the truth which has come to us seeing that we long for our Lord to admit us to the company of the righteous?"
*Notes:1-There is a consensus of opinion of the Ulama of the Ahl al-Sunnah Wal-Jama'ah that marriage with Jews and Christian women is permitted as was the practise of the Companions of the Prophet(R) (sahabah) like Uthmân, Talhâ, Ibn Abbas, Hudhaîfah and their followers (tabî'ûn) like Saîd bin al-Musayyîb, Saîd bin Jubaîr, Al-Hasan, Mujahîd, Tawûs, Akramah and
others.
If there are a good number of Muslim women to get married with, in any given country, it will be considered unlawful, according to the Ijtihad of certain Ulama[20], to marry the Kitâbîyyah women. Since Muslim women cannot marry the kitâbî men, who will marry them in those circumstances? It is better then that Muslim men marry Muslim women. The jurists of the four schools of Islamic jurisprudence have discussed the marriage with the Kitâbîyyah women and given their juristic views. According to the Hanâfî school it is unlawful to marry a
Kitâbîyyah women if she is in the country which happens to be an "abode of war" (Dar al-Harb) because that can open up a door to mischief. In such conditions, the children by that marriage will be more inclined towards the religion of their mother.[21] maliki's-The second opinion is that there is no complete disapproval in marrying a Kitâbîyyah because the Qur'ânic words has given a tacit approval. 5:17In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary.Say: "Who then hath the least power against Allah if His Will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary his mother and all everyone that is on the earth?For to Allah belongeth the dominion of
the heavens and the earth and all that is between.He createth what He pleaseth.For Allah hath power over all things."
Sa`id bin Batriq, the Patriarch of Alexandria and a famous Christian scholar, mentioned in the year four hundred after the Hijrah, that a Christian Council convened during the reign of Constantine, who built the city that bears his name. In this Council, the Christians came up with what they called the Great Trust, which in reality is the Great Treachery. There were more than two thousand patriarchs in this Council, and they were in such disarray that they divided into many sects, where some sects had twenty, fifty or a hundred members, etc.! When the king saw that there were more than three hundred Patriarchs who had the same idea, he agreed with them and adopted their creed. Constantine who was a deviant philosopher -- gave his support to this sect for which, as an honor, churches were built and doctrines were taught to young children, who were baptized on this creed, and books were written about it.
Meanwhile, the king oppressed all other sects. Another Council produced the sect known as the Jacobites, while the Nestorians were formed in a third Council. These three sects agreed that `Isa was divine, but disputed regarding the manner in which `Isa's divinity was related to his humanity; were they in unity or did Allah incarnate in `Isa! All three of these sects accuse each other of heresy and, we believe that all three of them are disbelievers.
5:18(Both) the Jews and the Christians say: "We are sons of Allah and His beloved."Say: "Why then doth He punish you for your sins?Nay ye are but men of the men He hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)."

(a) (Al-Masih `Isa, son of Maryam, was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, which He bestowed on Maryam and a spirit from [created by] Him;) `Isa is only one of Allah's servants and one of His creatures. Allah said to him, `Be', and he was, and He sent him as a Messenger. `Isa was a
word from Allah that He bestowed on Maryam, meaning He created him with the word `Be' that He sent with Jibril to Maryam. Jibril blew the life of `Isa into Maryam by Allah's leave, and `Isa came to existence as a result. This incident was in place of the normal conception between man and woman that results in children. This is why `Isa was a word and a Ruh (spirit) created by Allah, as he had no father to conceive him. Rather, he came to existence through the word that Allah uttered, `Be,' and he was, through the life that Allah sent with Jibril.
(b) (And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all from Him.) meaning, from His creation. `from Him' does not mean that it is a part of Him, as the Christians claim, may Allah's continued curses be upon them. Saying that something is from Allah, such as the spirit of Allah, the she-camel of Allah or the House of Allah, is meant to honor such items. Allah said,

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab, and he had heard from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad that they said, "When a free man marries a slave-girl and consummates the marriage, she makes him muhsan."Malik said, "All (of the people of knowledge) I have seen said that a slave-girl makes a free man muhsan when he marries her and consummates the marriage."Malik said, "A slave makes a free woman muhsana when he consummates a marriage with her and a free woman only makes a slave muhsan when he is freed and he is her husband and has had sexual relations with her after he has been set free. If he parts from her before he is free, he is not a muhsan unless he marries her after having been set free and he consummates the marriage."Malik said,
"When a slave-girl is married to a free man and then he separates from her before she is set free, his marriage to her does not make her muhsana. She is not muhsana until she has married after she has been set free and she has had intercourse with her husband. That gives her ihsan. If she is the wife of a freeman and then she is set free while she is his wife before he separates from her, the man makes her muhsana if he has intercourse with her after she has been set free."Malik said, "The christian and jewish free women and the muslim slave-girl all make a muslim free man muhsan when he marries one of them and has intercourse with her."

It was then declared lawful to eat something on which the name of Allah was mentioned, and it was made lawful to eat the flesh of an animal slaughtered by the people of the Book.

Permitting the Slaughtered Animals of the People of the Book
After Allah mentioned the filthy things that He
prohibited for His believing servants and the good things that He allowed for them, He said next,
[Çáúíóæúãó ÃõÍöáøó áóßõãõ ÇáØøóíøöÈóÜÊõ]
(Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibat.) Allah then
mentioned the ruling concerning the slaughtered animals of the People of the Book, the Jews and Christians,
(The food of the People of the Scripture
is lawful to you..) meaning, their slaughtered animals, as Ibn `Abbas, Abu Umamah, Mujahid, Sa`id bin Jubayr, `Ikrimah, `Ata', Al-Hasan, Makhul, Ibrahim An-Nakha`i, As-Suddi and Muqatil bin Hayyan stated. This ruling, that the slaughtered animals of the People of the Book are permissible for Muslims, is agreed on by the scholars, because the People of the Book believe that slaughtering for other than Allah is prohibited. They mention Allah's Name upon slaughtering their animals, even though they have deviant beliefs about Allah that do not befit His majesty. It is recorded in the Sahih that `Abdullah bin Mughaffal said, "While we were attacking the fort of Khaybar, a person threw a leather bag containing fat, and I ran to take it and said, `I will not give anyone anything from this container today.' But when I turned I saw the Prophet (standing behind) while smiling.'' The scholars rely on this Hadith as evidence that we are allowed to eat what we need of foods from the booty before
it is divided. The scholars of the Hanafi, the Shafi`i and the Hanbali Madhhabs rely on this Hadith to allow eating parts of the slaughtered animals of the Jews that they prohibit for themselves, such as the fat. They used this Hadith as evidence against the scholars of the Maliki Madhhab who disagreed with this ruling. A better proof is the Hadith recorded in the Sahih that the people of Khaybar gave the Prophet a gift of a roasted leg of sheep, which they poisoned. The Prophet used to like eating the leg of the sheep and he took a bite from it, but it told the Prophet that it was poisoned, so he discarded that bite. The bite that the Prophet took effected the palate of his mouth, while Bishr bin Al-Bara' bin Ma`rur died from eating from that sheep. The Prophet had the Jewish woman, Zaynab, who poisoned the sheep, killed. Therefore, the Prophet and his Companions wanted to eat from that sheep and did not ask the Jews if they removed what the Jews believed was prohibited for them,
such as its fat. Allah's statement,
[æóØóÚóÇãõßõãú Íöáøñ áøóåõãú]
(and your food is lawful to them.) means, you are allowed to feed them from your slaughtered animals. Therefore, this part of the Ayah is not to inform the People of the Scriptures that they are allowed to eat our food -- unless we consider it information for us about the ruling that they have -- i. e, that they are allowed all types of foods over which Allah's Name was mentioned, whether slaughtered according to their religion or otherwise. The first explanation is more plausible. So it means: you are allowed to feed them from your slaughtered animals just as you are allowed to eat from theirs, as equal compensation and fair treatment. The Prophet gave his robe to `Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul, who was wrapped with it when he died. They say that he did that because `Abdullah had given his robe to Al-`Abbas when Al-`Abbas came to Al-Madinah. As for the Hadith,
(Do not befriend but a believer, nor should other than a Taqi (pious person) eat your food.), This is to encourage such behavior, and Allah knows best.

Desde hace años, Evo Morales ha insistido en la necesidad de defender los recursos naturales bolivianos de la voracidad de trasnacionales, con el fin de que los beneficios conseguidos de la explotación de los yacimientos gasíferos, principalmente, llegue al grueso de la población, sumida en la miseria. Sin embargo, el ahora presidente de Bolivia deberá enfrentar las triquiñuelas de los grandes corporativos, que buscan por todos los medios mantener el control total de los recursos naturales. El viernes pasado, por ejemplo, el nuevo gobierno boliviano acusó de fraude y robo a la española Repsol-YPF, séptima productora mundial de hidrocarburos, al registrar como suyas las reservas de gas natural boliviano, las segundas más importantes de Sudamérica. Esta maniobra, que busca aumentar engañosamente el valor de las acciones de esa compañía, es una muestra del gran poder que detentan esas empresas, que pasan por encima de leyes, gobiernos y pueblos enteros.
La Constitución boliviana establece que los recursos naturales son propiedad del Estado de forma inalienable e imprescriptible. Sin embargo, los beneficios millonarios obtenidos por esas actividades económicas no se reflejan en el nivel de vida de la población. Por ello, el nuevo gobierno anunció que registraría como estatales las reservas de gas natural del país, como un primer paso del proyecto de nacionalización de sus recursos naturales, una decisión que afectaría los intereses de las petroleras, como Repsol-YPF.
Pero la trasnacional española se adelantó, a pesar de que esa maniobra constituye un delito federal en Estados Unidos contra la fe pública por atentar contra los intereses de los inversionistas. Para el ministro de Hidrocarburos, Andrés Soliz, no hay duda: si alguien debe registrar las reservas de gas en la bolsa "somos nosotros, los bolivianos".
Repsol-YPF controla 25.7 por ciento de las reservas bolivianas y opera un contrato de riesgo compartido desde 1997. De acuerdo con datos oficiales, las reservas de gas natural representan 150 mil millones de dólares, a precio de mercado regional. Con la ley de hidrocarburos, vigente desde junio de 2005, las petroleras deben pagar impuestos, en el mejor de los casos, por 550 millones de dólares al año, por el negocio de explotación de materias primas que alcanza un total de mil 600 millones de dólares sólo en el uso de los hidrocarburos como materias primas. Sin embargo, con los procesos de refinación e industrialización casi se triplica el monto total del negocio y las utilidades para las trasnacionales, lo que demuestra el trato desigual que determina la relación de esas empresas con los gobiernos regionales.
Repsol cuenta con una historia negra en Latinoamérica, donde se ha hecho de empresas públicas a precios ridículos, merced a tratos tramposos. Por ejemplo, YPF de Argentina fue comprada a cambio de bonos para paliar la deuda externa, bajo el pretexto de la falta de capacidad financiera. Por otro lado, las actividades de esta firma, realizadas sin ningún freno, han provocado innumerables daños al medio ambiente y a las comunidades indígenas. Los casos sobran: la destrucción del parque natural Yasuní, en la amazonia ecuatoriana, de 680 mil hectáreas, la invasión de 18 territorios indígenas y cuatro parques naturales en Bolivia o las acciones que han llevado a la multinacional a un pleito legal con el pueblo mapuche, en Chile, del que los indígenas han sacado la peor parte.
Ante este panorama de injusticias, el gobierno boliviano parece estar decidido a llegar hasta las últimas consecuencias para remediar la situación. En este sentido, Soliz señaló que se buscará imponer a esas empresas nuevas reglas de juego en función de los intereses nacionales y, si no las aceptan, se puede buscar otras inversiones, como las de India y China. Acciones como esas, sin duda, ayudarían a neutralizar el poder de esas empresas, que en complicidad con gobiernos corruptos generalmente hacen lo que quieren, sin que nadie se les ponga enfrente.

Fraude generalizado en las elecciones iraquíes cuyos resultados se publicarán hoy
Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- La Misión Internacional para las Elecciones Iraquíes (MIEI) reveló hoy que en los comicios legislativos del pasado 15 de diciembre en este país se registró un número indeterminado de fraudes. El informe precisa que se está en incapacidad de precisar el alcance de los fraudes y no menciona sus eventuales consecuencias por lo que no cuestionó el resultado final de la votación. Otro cúmulo de engaños debe de haber pasado inadvertidos muy probablemente y es imposible determinar el alcance exacto en las circunstancias actuales. Entre los elementos que facilitaron esa situación menciona la falta de organización, la falta de papeletas en algunos colegios electorales y problemas con las listas de los electores.

Al Bahadily dijo a través de la televisora gubernamental Al Iraquiya qu! e no hay presencia del mal que afectada a la vecina Turquía. En una transmisión en directo, el ministro respondió a preguntas de la población que la adolescente Chinjin Abdel Kader murió ayer en el hospital de la localidad de Suleimaniya por una infección pulmonar de otro carácter.

El ejército de los EEUU ejecuta otra operación contra la resistencia y la población civil en la región occidental iraquí
Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- Tropas norteamericanas de ocupación emprendieron una nueva operación en la provincia occidental iraquí de Al Anbar, informó ayer la jefatura de esas fuerzas. El ejército estadounidense, que ya perdió a dos mil 221 soldados a lo largo de 34 meses de guerra, ataca sistemáticamente supuestos focos de la resistencia en la dirección este y nordeste. En esta oportunidad, alrededor de mil infantes de la 22 Unidad Expedicionaria de la Marina, con el auxilio de divisiones mecanizadas, combaten desde el pasado domingo a lo largo de la margen occidental del río Eufrates. Acordonamiento de zonas y registros casa por casa es el método empleado por el ejército invasor que causa un enorme sufrimiento en la población civil.

Alto responsable militar británico denuncia racismo de las tropas de EEUU
Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- El brigadier británico Nigel Aylwin-Foster denunció el racismo institucionalizado de las tropas estadounidenses participantes en la ocupación en Iraq, reveló ayer el diario The Guardian. De acuerdo con! esa publicación, Aylwin-Foster, segundo oficial de más alto rango involucrado en la preparación del ejército del nuevo gobierno iraquí, afirmó que los militares norteamericanos adolecen de moral y de capacidad para misiones contrainsurgentes. Las tropas estadounidenses cuentan con un optimismo infundado sobre el éxito de sus acciones en el ocupado estado árabe, declaró el brigadier británico a la revista norteamericana Military Review, citada por The Guardian.

inSurGente.- Un helicóptero estadounidense Blackhawk se estrelló en el norte de Iraq y sus 12 ocupantes murieron, dijeron hoy fuentes del Ejército, que también anunciaron la muerte de otros cinco soldados norteamericanos en ataques del fin de semana. Las muertes tuvieron lugar cuando! la Policía iraquí anunció que un ingeniero francés, que había sido secuestrado, fue liberado por sus captores. El aparato, un Blackhawk UH-60, cayó justo antes de la medianoche a unos 12 kilómetros al este de Tal Afar, en el norte del país. Los militares dijeron que según los registros había a bordo ocho pasajeros y cuatro tripulantes.

03. Iraq: La Resistencia contesta a Bush
Siete soldados yanquis y más de 100 iraquíes, una parte de ellos reclutas, murieron en ataques en Bagdad, Nayaf y Kerbala
inSurGente.- La situación viene definida por unas elecciones organizadas y manipuladas por los ocupantes, y de resultados fraudulentos y postergados, que son rechazadas por la comunidad suní; una presencia militar norteamericana y británica que es abominada por la inmensa mayoría de la población; un gobierno títere identificado con los invasores; y una creciente resistencia armada que tiene, cada vez más, elementos geográficos, religiosos y étnicos de guerra civil. Tres semanas después de las elecciones de la “estabilización” la situación es peor que nunca. Entretanto, Bush lanza mensajes confusos entre el comienzo de la retirada parcial y la permanencia hasta que se cumplan los objetivos, y algunos análisis militares en los EEUU hablan de que se ha cometido el error estratégico de sobrepasar los recursos disponibles. Washington ya no tiene gran capacidad de respuesta salvo si recurre al reclutamiento obligatorio.

La Resistencia iraquí incendia un oleoducto en el sur de Bagdad mientras continúa los ataques armados
inSurGente.-La expectativa artificial de estabilización, que proclamó de nuevo la prensa iraquí controlada por el Pentágono y los grandes medios ! de comunicación en el exterior del país, ha desaparecido en apenas unos días. Las manifestaciones en Bagdad y las ciudades de mayoría suní, denunciando el fraude electoral en la capital, y las protestas en el mismo sentido de los ulemas, han reorientado la atención mundial hacia la verdadera realidad: la guerra. La resistencia iraquí atacó ayer con bombas el oleoducto que surte de petróleo a la refinería de Al Doura, en el sur de esta capital, el segundo atentado contra ese establecimiento en los últimos días. La crisis de combustible –tanto las exportaciones como para consumo interno- se ha agravado por ataques durante la última semana. Mientras tanto varias explosiones ocurrieron el primer día del año sólo en Bagdad, dirigidos contra la policía y las fuerzas militares iraquíes. El resultado es de 2 muertos y 17 heridos. Mientras, el país destruido, ocupado y desestabilizado continúa sufriendo.

CÓMO NOS ABURRÍAMOS!!!
¡Cómo nos aburríamos y sufríamos! La vida moderna nos ofrece una gran
cantidad de nuevos servicios y productos para consumir. Pero a veces es
conveniente pensar cuántos de ellos son realmente imprescindibles. Sobre
todo cuando se trata de los que consumen los jóvenes. Los que estamos
llegando a los 45 años realmente debemos ser personas que no nos hemos
divertido nunca y que hemos sufrido infinidad de calamidades sin siquiera
darnos cuenta.
¿Cómo alguien podía divertirse con sólo cuatro canales de televisión,
encima
en blanco y negro, y para colmo que terminaban su transmisión alrededor de
la once de la noche?
¿Cómo hacíamos para divertirnos yendo a bailar a casa de nuestros amigos,
poniendo nosotros los "discos" (me refiero a los de vinilo, no a los CDs)
y
no nos dábamos cuenta de que nos estábamos perdiendo las "megadiscos" con
música a todo lo que da y luces de diversos colores?
¿Cómo es posible que viajáramos por horas apiñados (no existían las vans
ni
las camionetas 4x4) en un vehículo que no tenía aire acondicionado, DVD e
incluso ni radio? No entiendo cómo pude sobrevivir a semejante tortura.
¿Cómo no desfallecí en el intento de ubicar un teléfono público (que por
ese
entonces eran bastante más escasos) para avisar a mis padres algo que
realmente era importante? ¿Cómo pude vivir sin celulares con mensajes de
texto?
¿Cómo no morí de hambre por no poder comer pochoclo en el cine?
¿Cómo perdí miles de horas de mi valioso tiempo sin poder escuchar música
en
un discman mientras viajaba hacia o desde la escuela, teniendo que
escuchar
la estúpida conversación de mis compañeros?
¿Cómo me perdí la mitad de la adolescencia acostándome a una hora
razonable
en lugar de ir a bailar a partir de las dos de la mañana?
¿Cómo no tuve una depresión aguda juvenil por no poder disfrutar del
Nintendo, el Gameboy y el chateo? ¿Cómo me conformaba con jugar a las
cartas, a la pelota o juntarme a charlar con mis amigos en vez de hacerlo
a
través de la pantalla?
¿Me habrá salido alguna hernia por tener que levantarme a cambiar de canal
en vez de utilizar el control remoto?
¿Cómo no tuve un ataque de aburrimiento que me llevara a la deserción
escolar al ver que los libros de texto eran sólo en blanco y negro y, para
peor, traían sólo letras y ningún dibujo?
¿Cómo logré aprobar trabajos sin tener necesidad de bajarlos de Internet
del
"Rincón del Vago"?
No entiendo cómo no terminé con la columna torcida por llevar mi valija de
colegio sin rueditas. Y para colmo llevaba y traía todos los días todos
los
libros.
¿Cómo no reparaba en la tortura que significaba tener que presentar mis
trabajos escolares escritos a mano, y que además de semejante tortura me
exigieran que estuvieran prolijos y sin errores de ortografía?
¿Cómo no me di cuenta de que no podía ser feliz teniendo sólo tres o
cuatro
bolitas (hoy canicas) para jugar, en vez de comprarlas por cientos para
acumularlas?
¿Cómo no tenía ataques de asco al comprobar que en el quiosco de la
escuela
sólo vendían cosas que alimentaban? ¿Cómo no me daba cuenta de lo
divertido
que es comprar cosas que parecen mocos, vómitos o monstruos?
¿Cómo hacía para sacar fotos si no llevaba continuamente la máquina
incorporada en algún otro aparato?
¿Cómo no se me destrozaron los meniscos, a pesar de haber caminado o
corrido
cientos de kilómetros, por no utilizar zapatillas con aire?
¿Qué tipo de autoflagelación me inflingí andando en bicicleta en los
veranos, habiendo magníficos scooters, ciclomotores y cuatriciclones?
Realmente no entiendo cómo llegué a esta edad. ¿Cómo hice para soportar
semejantes torturas y aburrimientos? Sin embargo, aquí estoy, aún
aprendiendo a vivir y con la ilusión de hacerlo.
Pensemos en cuántas de las cosas que consideramos imprescindibles, son
siquiera útiles o necesarias. Y no metamos a nuestros hijos en una
sociedad
de consumo donde la "frustración" es no tener el último modelo de celular.

Hace unos dias me encontre a un grupo de venezolanos hablando negativamente de Chavez y Castro, veo documentales, leo, etc.. y ahora estoy en un conficto de cual es la realidad de esos 2 paises, cual es la verdadera realidad de la gente que vive alla?
Ya vienen las elecciones en Mexico y me da miedo pensar quien va a dirigir nuestro pais, miedo de tener una esperanza y a la vez escoger la mejor opcion de las peores.

Hamas's stunning victory in the Palestinian parliamentary elections opens up a new era in the history of the Middle East. Though Hamas was always expected to do well, few anticipated that it would emerge as the dominant force in Palestinian politics. And no one predicted that the hegemony of the Fatah party would be so comprehensively overturned. Hamas itself hinted throughout the campaign that it would be willing to serve as a junior partner in a Fatah-led coalition. But winning a solid majority of 76 parliamentary seats means that Hamas is now in a position to form a government on its own. Whether it expected it or not, Hamas finds that power has been thrust into its hands.
There can be no doubt over the legitimacy of the Hamas victory. An impressive 78 per cent of registered Palestinian voters turned out. Impartial election observers vouched for the integrity of the poll. There was little violence and no allegations of fraud. The world has long demanded democracy from the Palestinians. Now they have it. Indeed, that the Palestinian Authority was able to organise such a successful election under conditions of military occupation by Israel makes this an especially impressive feat.

Elecciones palestinas: Israel asesina a los candidatos de Hamas
Mientras el gobierno de Ariel Sharon exige que la Autoridad Palestina le prohíba a Hamas participar en las elecciones legislativas, el ejército israelí arrestó a más de 200 militantes de Hamas y de Yihad Islámica en la franja de Gaza, una docena de ellos dirigentes políticos y militares de Hamas candidatos potenciales a las elecciones legislativas. La concentración organizada por Hamas para celebrar la retirada de los territorios ocupados se convirtió en drama. Varios testigos dieron testimonio de disparos realizados por aviones teledirigidos israelíes. Otra vez, las débiles Naciones Unidas son utilizadas como sello de goma para el plan de los neoconservadores Straussian para la destrucción total de la sociedad y la cultura Islámica , según el plan neoconservador concebido hace mucho tiempo. Pero nada de esto es relevante ahora. Israel va a instigar a los Estados Unidos - con la bendición asombrada de los europeos (o sus aristócratas gobernantes) y del inútil lamebotas Consejo de Seguridad - a un duro y prolongado bombardeo de Irán-hasta su devastación, asesinando probablemente a miles, quizá finalmente a cientos demiles de personas inocentes.

La ilusión de la democracia: Las Elecciones palestinas Saree Makdisi, Intifada Electrónica, 23 enero del 2006
Con aproximadamente el 80 por ciento de votantes elegiblesregistrados, y más de 700 candidatos con posibilidad de ganar en una cuestionada con vehemencia campaña para 132 escaños en el Consejo Legislativo Palestino, la escena está preparada para lo que está siendo promocionado como un ejercicio de la democracia cuando los palestinos en los territorios ocupados concurran a las elecciones el miércoles.
Hay, sin embargo, algunos problemas con este optimista cuadro.
En primer lugar, los candidatos que representan el movimiento islámico Hamasparec! en estar posicionados para una victoria significativa sobre sus rivales en el partido gobernante Fatah del Presidente de la Autoridad Palestina Mahmoud Abbas. Los Estados Unidos y la Unión Europea han amenazado con cortar la ayuda a la Autoridad Palestina si se le admite a Hamas una presencia en el Gabinete palestino, que sería la consecuencia lógico de obtener un porcentaje significativo del voto popular. E Israel dice que se rehusará a negociar con un gobierno que incluye a Hamas.
Hamas ha ganado el apoyo electoral no porque tantos palestinos apoyen su ideología y violencia, sino porque ellos están hartos de estar esperando 39 años bajo la ocupación mi! litar israelí, con un gobierno liderado por Fatah que ha fracasado en cumplir alguna de las promesas de paz y prosperidad que han sido hechas desde los acuerdos de Oslo del año 1993. Aún en la etapa más crucial del proceso de paz, ni el 18 por ciento de la Ribera Occidental jamás fue devuelta en realidad al control palestino - e incluso fue dividida en unas docenas de los fragmentos deshilvanados de territorio. No esculpa de Fatah, sino más bien de los israelíes, que siguen rehusándose a desmantelar su ocupación y cumplir con obligaciones de los tratados y los principios del derecho internacional. Pero mientras líderes de Fatah como Abbas rehúsen aprobar cualquier alternativa a la participación en un proceso que ha conducido nada más que al futuro estancamiento y miseria para la población palestina, un voto para Hamas es en realidad un voto contra Fatah.
Esto es escepticismo político nacido de la desesperación.
Cuando les preguntan a los Palestinos cuál de sus líderes es de mayor confianza, dos veces más son los que no eligen ninguna de las opciones como Abbas - y él es el líder menor sospechado. Las encuestas muestran que menos del 3 por ciento de los palestinos que viven en los territorios ocupados respaldan en realidad el objetivo de Hamas de crear un estado Islámico en la Palestina histórica. Tres cuartos de ellos apoyan una resolución pacífica- tanto de uno como de dos estados- del conflicto con Israel.
Toda el discurso de elecciones esparte de una tentativa de imponer la sensación de la normalidad en una situación sumamente anormal: no solamente la eterna, infinita ocupación, sino el futuro irresuelto de los palestinos, cuyas dos terceras partes están excluidos del proceso electoral porque ellos no viven en los territorios ocupados, sino en campamentos de refugiados o en la diáspora, o como los ciudadanos de segunda clase del estado de Israel. Y nada de esto será cambiado por las elecciones.
Dejando aparte la pregunta de lo que significa celebrar una elección "nacional" cuando la mayoría de la nación no tiene el derecho de votar, incluso el proceso de celebrar elecciones mientras se está viviendo bajo la ocupación militar es sumamente problemático para los que son elegibles para votar.
El ejército israelí niega a los palestinos en los Territorios Ocupados el derecho a la libertad de movimiento, como también el acceso a reuniones para hacer campaña e incluso las cabinas de votación apenas pueden ser dadas por sentado. Ahora mismo, por ejemplo, 800.000 Palestinos que viven en el norte de la Ribera Occidental son impedidos de viajar fuera de losdistritos de sus domicilios, y ungran ramal de la Ruta 60, la carretera principal de la Ribera Occidental , ha estado prohibida al tráfico palestino desde agosto.
Los candidatos que! hacen una campaña tienen que sufrir no sólo el maltrato habitual de los checkpoints israelíes, patrullas y barricadas, sino también deben manejar con cuidado la-políticamente motivada- la clase de interferencia que en las elecciones presidenciales del año pasado garantizó que sólo Abbas - el candidato preferido de Israel -pudiera moverse libremente. Otros candidatos a menudo fueron detenidos y a veces, físicamente abusados en loscheckpoints israelíes.
Israel recientemente dio el permiso a los palestinos de Quds-(Jerusalén Este ) para votar, peroha prohibido a los candidatos de Hamas hacer una campaña allí o tener sus nombres impresos en las boletas.
Desde luego, según la ley internacional, Quds-Jerusalén Este- es considerado territorio ocupado, de modo que Israel no está realmente capacitado para permitir o impedir allía los palestinos de participar en el proceso político.
En suma, estas elecciones apenas pueden ser consideradasgenuinamente democráticas, no porque los Palestinos no quieren que lo sean, sino más bien debido acircunstancias más grandes, la realidad imborrable de que es imposible para una nación celebrar elecciones genuinas mientras un tercio vive bajo la ocupación militar y a las dos terceras partes se les deniega el derecho de votar.
Esto no quiere de! cir que no hay ningún objetivo en la celebración de elecciones para un gobierno que se encontrará sin un estadoque gobernar. El motivo de las elecciones es mantener la ilusión de que allí todavía hay un proceso político que tarde o temprano conducirá a la " estatidad "-condición de estado- palestina. Las elecciones tomar parte de un relato más amplio de la "estatidadpalestina sin estado"-que ha sido impulsadapor los Estados Unidos e Israel, con el consentimiento obligado de la Autoridad Palestina - desde Oslo.
Las elecciones del miércoles no sólo hacen mantener este engaño; ellas también refuerzan la sensación de que so! n parte de un proceso más amplio"de reforma" y "democratización" palestina, que son lasllaves del futuro del supuesto proceso de paz.
Después de todo, los Estados Unidos han decretado que todo el progreso hacia la paz depende del comportamiento de los Palestinos, antes que de los israelíes. El hecho de poner esa carga sobre los que nunca decidieron vivir bajo la ocupación militar - eximiendo a los ocupantes – es poco prometedor para producir verdaderos resultados.
Pero no es lo que se pretende. De ahí que el consejero mayordel primer ministro israelí Ariel Sharon-Dov Weisglass- describe la situación como " puesta en formol"- conservada ! pero igual. Según Weisglass, mantener la ilusión de un proceso político garantiza que no habrá ninguna resolución del conflicto " hasta que los Palestinos se conviertan en finlandeses. " Y que, desde luego, satisface enormemente a Israel, porque mientras la ilusión es mantenida,no tiene que hacer nada sino continuar ocupando los territorios quetomó por la fuerza en 1967.

Volviendo la mirada atrás, los que hemos vivido y sufrido durante y despuésde la trágica Segunda Guerra Mundial podemos distinguir con claridad dos tipos de holocausto. Uno, cometido por los nazis contra el pueblo judío yopositores y otro, cometido por los aliados contra el pueblo alem! án. Personalmente soy un sobreviviente, un testigo presencial del colosal holocausto consumado
sobre toda Alemania y su indefensa población.
Holocausto, según la Enciclopedia Universal Sopena, tomo V, pág. 4.376
(Barcelona, 1972), es una palabra griega compuesta de “Holos”, todo, y “kaustos”,quemado. Que también significa “sacrificio especial entre los hebreos en que se quemaba
totalmente a la víctima”. Quisiera aclarar también que e! ste término proviene de los tiempos antiguos, cuando los persas invadieron Tesalia, al norte de Grecia, y quemaron varios poblados. Un mensajero corrió a Atenas gritando “Holoskaustos”, o sea, todo quemado.
Ciertamente, Alemania fue totalmente destruida y abrasada por las llamas.
Porque los aliados arrojaban no sólo bombas destructivas, sino también cientos de miles de bombas incendiarias, convirtiéndola en un espantoso y pavoroso
“Holoskaustos”. Allí, desesperado, estaba yo también. Al respecto algunos dicenque por más que la gran mayoría del pueblo alemán no era nazi, ellos trabajaban
para los nazis. Yo pienso: “Si ésa era la lógica, debían entonces bombardear los campos de concentración de prisioneros que también trabajaban para el aparato nazi.” Sin embargo, los cuidaban celosamente.
Mientras, el nombrado Holocausto contra el pueblo judío fue causado por
la obstinada persecución cometida por los partidarios de Hitler del régimen nazi. Especialmente después del (ya comentado) asesinato en la embajada de Alemania en Paris cometido por un joven judío, (en el umbral de la guerra) y después que el judaísmo le declaró a Alemania la guerra sin fronteras.
Lo trágico fue la in! stalación de apresurados, improvisados, mal abastecidos y al final abandonados campos de concentración teniendo en cuenta además, los millones de prisioneros de guerra.

En los lejanos y enormes campos de batalla los soldados regulares morían
a causa del frío, del hambre y de las pestes, antes que por la acción de
las balas enemigas. …
Para el Año Nuevo de 1943 escuché al enloquecido y desesperado
Hitler gritar por la radio diciendo que recibió quejas (tal vez de la Cruz
Roja Internacional) de que a los judíos, en los campos de concentración,
no se les proporcionaban suficientes alimentos para poder trabajar y producir y que no se les daba suficiente abrigo ni medicamentos para los
enfermos. “Wir brauchen production”, nosotros necesitamos producción,... Como es sabido, los campos de concentración
se vieron convertidos realmente en zonas industri! ales, como Auschwitz,
por ejemplo, que era más cercano a los frentes de batalla de Rusia, más
lejos para los bombardeos desde Inglaterra, y además, estaba situado en unpaís amigo. Se decía que Hitler quería utilizar su trabajo y después de la guerra (creyendo que la iba a ganar), debían empacar sus valijas para irse de Europa.
Mientras estaba en Sofía, Bulgaria, a fines de 1945 (haciendo los tortuosos
trámites para obtener el permiso y volver a Alemania), leí con sorpresa
en los diarios comunistas búlgaros y rusos, con enormes titulares: “Los
nazis han matado 2.000.000 de judíos”. Según los textos, se lo presentaba como el genocidio más grande en la historia de la humanidad. Con los colegas que pude encontrarme allí nos parecía increíble, una monstruosidad. Otros
consideraban que podía ser una propaganda o una expresión del odio de
los marxistas hacia los nazis, para cubrir sus propias atrocidades.
Sin embargo, al llegar a Munich, en 1946, a año y medio después de la
derrota y la ocupación de Alemania, quedé shockeado al leer en los diarios que, según las últimas estadísticas, los muertos por los nazis ascendían a 4.000.000. Esos titulares me consternaron, por mi aprecio a esa colectividad.
Parecía una barbaridad, porque según algunos, bajo el dominio directo
de los nazis, no podía haber tantos, teniendo en cuenta los que se
fueron antes de empezar la guerra y los sobrevivientes después de ella.
Muchos consideraban algo totalmente ilógico que los nazis fueran a buscar judíos de los países ocupados (como es lógico, ellos seguro se desparramaron y escondieron, con lo que para hallarlos eran necesarios el idioma y la colaboración) y dejar abandonadas sin abastecimiento a sus tropas. Yo mismo leí, en 1943, que Hitler le había pedido personalmente a su aliado, el regente húngaro Horthy, que le juntara y enviara 100.000, que necesitaba urgente trabajadores para la producción. Pero al parecer Horthy no pudo satisfacer todo ese pedido, porque no quería, o porque necesitaba mucho personal policial para ir a buscar y apresar, para el transporte, alimento, etc., y el fragor de la encarnizada guerra no era para dedicarse a eso. Qué habrá pasado después, no me enteré.
Diarios alemanes nazis de la época aseguraban que el apresar a es! a gente era conforme a los tratados internacionales con respecto al trato a los enemigos, para evitar sabotajes. Efectivamente, las distintas resistencias antinazis estaban integradas en gran parte por miembros de esa comunidad. La más activa era la resistencia francesa, y la más numerosa eran los partisanos del mariscal Tito, donde se consideraba que había unos 20.000 combatientes judíos.
Estando ya en la Argentina, en 1948, todavía como un pobre, desorientado inmigrante, de nuevo me sorprendieron las últimas noticias que se publicaron: que los muertos ascendían a 6.000.000. No podía estar tranquilo sin saber en realidad qué había pasado para ese cambio en las cantidades,
ya que el pueblo hebreo es un pu! eblo unido, informado y de gente culta.
Entre mis colegas y amigos decidí dirigirme a Agop, el fiero pero muy
inteligente búlgaro-armenio.
Al recibir la contestación –lástima que después perdí la dirección–,
Agop me explicó: “Como se puede calcular, durante la guerra, bajo el dominio de Hitler, seguro no había tres millones de hebreos” (eso escribió después un historiador
británico). Además, “el loco” gritaba que necesitaba producción.
El vivo armenio, entre la verdad y la mentira, me escribe: “Vos sabés que en Palestina se formó un nuevo Estado israelí, y para su construcción, según calculaban, con la indemnización de dos millones de muertos no sería suficiente. Pero después de tener en cuenta
los enormes costos y gastos, y el mayor interés de los inmigrantes, aumentaron el número al doble, y después al triple”. Tantos eran mis problemas con esa declaración que resolví no pensar más en ello. ..
Más allá de la cantidad y las causas, yo, que he sufrido tanto, considero
lamentable y repudiable el sufrimiento! de cualquier indefenso ser humano, cualquiera fuesen los números, se trate de las víctimas de ayer como las de hoy.
Los responsables, los jerarcas nazis, fueron derrotados, capturados y condenados por el Tribunal Internacional de Nüremberg por los crímenes que habían cometido. ..
Además, sabemos que desgraciadamente fueron una híbrida consecuencia de las injusticias cometidas en los Tratados de Paz por los aliados en la Primera Guerra Mundial. Allí debe buscarse todo el origen de los posteriores y trágicos sucesos, tanto sobre el pueblo alemán como sobre la guerra y los prisioneros judíos.
El lector debe saber que la culpa de los sufrimientos y las muertes de
tantos prisioneros no fue del pueblo alemán, .. Todos sus tesoros
nacionales fueron saqueados. Cada uno de los vencedores se llevó los mejores cerebros de los científicos alemanes. Además, tuvieron que soportar que su escaso territorio fuera, de nuevo, severamente mutilado. .. Encima de todo debían trabajar día y noche para
reconstruir de nuevo todo un país. También tenían que mantener los grandes ejércitos de ocupación y pagar los pesados tributos de guerra. Para finali! zar, no queda otra deducción: que los pueblos más afectados a consecuencia de los tratados de Versailles, fueron en definitiva el pueblo alemán y los judíos, que sufrieron horrorosamente y murieron unos bajo los implacables bombardeos o en los lejanos campos de batalla, otros de hambre y de pestes en los desabastecidos y finalmente abandonados campos de concentración.
Las atrocidades cometidas durante y después de la 2ª Guerra Mundial y
el Holocausto no abandonan mi mente. Por eso, para mayor conocimiento mencionaré las investigaciones realizadas por el estudioso de las ciencias europeas, residente en Portland, EE.UU., Nicola M. Nicolov, de su libro Las máscaras de las celebridades. “Los judíos han sido muy útiles en la producción de guerra nazi y de su interés ha sido qu! e se mantengan vivos. Por lo que la administración de todos
los campos de concentración, incluso Auschwitz, el 3 de diciembre de 1942, envía una orden con críticas a la alta mortandad de los campos, que se debía a diferentes enfermedades. Se ordena a los médicos disponibles que tomen todas las medidas a su alcance para mermar la mortandad. Se insiste también que observen la comida de los prisioneros y que recomienden, a las distintas administraciones, que mejoren en lo posible las condiciones del trabajo”.
Al final de esa directiva subraya que el Reichsführer de las SS ordenó que la mortandad debía mermar a toda costa y que eso está en el documento de Nüremberg P.S. 2171, Anexo NCBA red. Series, Vol. 4, págs. 833-834.
Por otro lado, el jefe de los SS destinado a los campos de concentración,
Richard Glück, el 20 de enero de 1943 manda circulares a todos los comandantes de los “lagers” ordenando: “Como ya he subrayado deben tomarse todas las medidas posibles para mermar las muertes en los lagers”.31 A pesar de la búsqueda –afirma
Nicolov– no existió ni un solo documento ni constancia en los archivos del proceso de Nüremberg para la liquidación masiva de judíos.
Luego el Sr. Nicolov continúa diciendo: “Muchos lectores saben que el gobierno de EE.UU. prohi! bió a la Cruz Roja Internacional y a la Comisión Central Sueca de observadores que publicaran sus conclusiones referentes a los campos de concentración de la
Segunda Guerra Mundial, porque sus cálculos de muertes han sido muchísimo menores que los de seis millones tomados como cifra oficial.”
Me llama la atención que todavía hoy haya gente culta e incluso profesionales que no puedan distinguir entre el régimen nazi y el pueblo alemán, escuchando culparlo injustamente, por ejemplo, de que masacraron a los gitanos. Cuando yo aclaraba que en Alemania gitanos no había ni uno porque allí el que no trabajaba y producía se moría de hamb! re, entonces me decían: “Sí, pero los traían de Hungría”. Lo que yo puedo testimoniar es que si los nazis hubiesen tenido un macabro interés en buscar, transportar y matar gitanos para no aburrirse, lo más fácil hubiera sido llevar a los gitanos que deleitaban a los pasajeros ferroviarios hasta el final de la guerra con las hermosas
rapsodias húngaras ejecutados por sus virtuosos violines. .. Es cierto que con la ignorancia no se puede luchar; con razón
decía el gran poeta ruso Pushkin al final de sus famosos poemas: “y con duzaku
ne spori”, “con el imbécil no discuta” –perderá tiempo y se hará mala sangre.
Parece mentira pero hace más o menos 7 u 8 años, estando en Bulgaria,
leí en un diario que el auto-llamado “Rey de los Gitanos” manifestaba que si los judíos habían conseguido que los alemanes le abonaran indemnización por seis millones de muertos, por qué ellos no podían reclamar el pago por lo menos de quinientos mil gitanos supuestamente asesinados por los nazis.
Faltaba sólo golpear a la puerta de Alemania. El que leía el artículo se reiría
de la ocurrencia gitana.
... Volviendo a los gitanos y la sempiterna incapacidad de adaptación de
estos curiosos viajeros, ¿forzará a Bruselas a pensar en algún sitio del mundo apto para un “país gitano”? Los seis millones de judíos muertos por los nazis influyeron en la creación de

WASHINGTON - La jefa de la minoría demócrata en la Cámara de Representantes de Estados Unidos considera que la Casa Blanca del presidente George W. Bush se ha quedado corta en ofrecerle a Puerto Rico un verdadero proceso de libre determinación.
"He dicho una y otra vez que la libre determinación de Puerto Rico se refiere al derecho del pueblo de Puerto Rico a determinar el procedimiento y las opciones de status que desea", indicó la congresista Nancy Pelosi, elegida por California y quien se prevé que aspirará a la presidencia de la Cámara baja si los demócratas reconquistan ese cuerpo legislativo en noviembre próximo.
En declaraciones a El Nuevo Día, Pelosi sostuvo que el informe de la Casa Blanca sobre el status político de Puerto Rico -que recomienda inicialmente consultar a los puertorriqueños en torno a si desean cambiar su actual status territorial-, "se queda corto en poner en marcha un verdadero proceso de libre determinación".
"Los puertorriqueños han contribuido a nuestra nación con su servicio militar, a nuestra economía y han hecho mejor, para todos nosotros, este país. Lo menos que se merecen es un proceso, hacia una verdadera libre determinación, que sea justo y equilibrado", agregó Pelosi.
ANTE LA reticencia del pasado de sectores republicanos del Congreso en promover una consulta de status que incluya la estadidad como opción, los votos de los demócratas pueden ser determinantes. En la votación del proyecto Young -que en 1998 intentó sin éxito encaminar a Puerto Rico hacia la estadidad o su independencia-, los demócratas fueron la clara mayoría a favor de la legislación.
Un total de 165 demócratas y 43 republicanos de la Cámara baja, además del independiente Bernie Sanders, votó a favor del proyecto Young, el 4 de marzo de 1998. La legislación, sin embargo, fue rechazada por 177 republicanos (tres cuartas partes del caucus de ese partido) y 31 demócratas.
El comisionado residente en Washington, Luis Fortuño, ha indicado que esta vez la diferencia dentro del caucus republicano lo hará su vinculación con la mayoría legislativa.
Otro prominente congresista demócrata, Charlie Rangel, elegido por Nueva York y portavoz de la minoría en el poderoso Comité de Medios y Arbitrios de la Cámara baja, tampoco dio una buena evaluación al proceso de status que ha recomendado la Casa Blanca.

not correct and one of contradiction, but they do have a bigger heart than
the Islamic Community where only one who benefits is the rich...
So now I am a Non-covering Muslimah, that doesn't go to the
mosque and stays away from the Muslim in her community... I still love all
Muslim people but I pray Allah they change their ways, because the children
follow in what they see, and I don't want my kids raising in such manner...

The vicinity of both incidents was cordoned off as police officers revealed that a number of fliers attributed to the self-denominated 'Frente Revolucionario' (Revolutionary Front) group were found littered in the immediate area.

What brings slavery into society is either from slave markets or war captives turned as slaves.

Firstly, The existence of Islamic State or Reasons for Legality of waging war/jihad [to wage Jihad it does’nt necessarily requires a pre-existent Islamic state ,ifIslamic state is present then its fine, if its absent even then jihad becomes valid provided the situation demands it .Jihad can be waged in alliance with non-muslim state against Non-muslims & terms and conditions can be laid down mutually but when it comes to establishing administration of the conquered land only Islamic law will abide.
Secondly, The Islamic State is offering other territories to join Islam or to have treaties on humanitarian grounds in accordance with Islamic excellence &those territories refuse all kinds of offers. Then Jihad will be announced or if
they announce war.
Thirdly, During a war,If inshallah muslims win then spoils of war can be distributed by the Khalifa /the chief & prisoners can be dealt it four ways.(a) They may be killed.(b)They may be freed on ransom.(c)They may be freed generously as a favour.(d)They may be kept as slaves.Women are basically not killed unless & until they are charged with crimes.If both sides capture prisoners, and they exchange mutually, then there are noslaves.
If captives are freed either as favour or by ransom ,they can live unders Islamic law as Dhmmis or they may choose live outside Islamic state.

Islam recognizes the existence of slavery and propagates its emancipation.
16:71Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others; those more favored are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess so as to be equal in that respect.Will they then deny the favors of Allah?
Slaves come from two sources at the time of Prophet Muhammad pbuh
1.Slave markets :slave trade in slave markets was majour source of economy ,an immediate order of prohibition would have created immense social and economic problems. Such problems pose burdensome threat to society/state to cater the needs of a large number of slaves, who’s dependence was on various families. Also, the national treasury was in no position to provide them all on a permanent basis. The old & the young ones were incapable of supporting
themselves. The only alternative left for them, if they were instantly freed, would have been to turn to beggary and become an economic burden for the society. The question of slave girls and women was even more critical, keeping in view their own low moral standards. Freeing them, all of a sudden, would have only resulted in a tremendous increase in brothels.
2:When it comes to war captives/slaves ,releasing them would have made the purpose of war null & void.It would tear the spirit
of muslims who willing fight at the risk of their lives.Allah subhanawatala says subdue them,by means of ransoming some ,killing some ,freeing some by favour &keeping some as slaves.Had they been completely freed ,the evil minded people would have created further mischief by attacking again or employing other methods of mischief.
In todays world both cases are still available.
Inshallah when Jihad will occur, Inshallah then muslims will win & spoils of war will be distributed by the Khalifah & in that property there will be Prisoners of war.They will be subjected to any of these categories,Killed,freed,ransomed,enslaved depending on the demand of the situation.
Difference between slaves and prisoners.
To better understand slavery in todays world is to compare it with the case of prisoners in jail.Islam gives slaves the equal or better right on food .while prisoners are not treated with such care.Equal clothing for slaves as of the masters is commanded ,Prisoners do not get such treatment.Slaves can earn their freedom but prisoners cannot .Slaves can marry & start a family but prisoners start a family.Slaves can have
property but prisoners cannot have property.A master can sell the slave to another person but he should not separate families but a prisoner is separated from his family.hence keeping a slave can become burden on Islamic state,this is a subtle way of discouraging slavery.
Further reason for both freeing slaves & enslavery.
1. In the early Makkan period, it pronounced that slave emancipation was a great deed of piety. The very initial Makkan surahs appealed to the Muslims to liberate as many slaves as they could.
2. The Prophet (sws), unequivocally, directed the Muslims to raise the standard of living of the slaves and bring it equal to their own standard. This, of course, was meant to discourage people from persisting with
them.
3. For the atonement of many sins manumission of Muslim slaves was divinely ordained.
4. All slave men and women who could support themselves in the society were directed to marry one another, in order to raise their moral and social status.
5. A permanent head in the public treasury was fixed to set free slave men and women.
6. Prostitution, which was largely carried out through slave women, who were mostly forced by their masters do so, was totally prohibited.
7. The affronting names of ‘abd (slave-man) and amah (slave-woman) by which slave men and women were called, were abrogated so that people should stop regarding them as slaves. In their place, the words fata (boy) and fatat (girl) were introduced.
8. Finally, the law of mukatibat provided very easy access for the slaves to the gateway to freedom. Every slave who was capable of supporting himself was allowed by law to free himself, provided that he/she either gave a certain monetary amount to his master or carried out certain errands for him. After this, he/she could live as a free man/woman. A special head in the treasury was fixed for this purpose; also, wealthy people were urged to help the slaves in this regard. The net result of this law was that only handicapped and old slaves were left to be provided for by their masters, which not only went in their own favour but also prevented them from becoming an economic burden on the society.
Spoils of war will be handled by Prophet Muhammad pbuh and after his demise by the Khalifah’s.
8:1They ask thee concerning (things taken as) spoils of war.Say: "(Such) spoils are at the disposal of Allah and the apostle: so fear Allah and keep straight the relations between yourselves: obey Allah and
His apostle if ye do believe."
8:41And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war) a fifth share is assigned to Allah and to the apostle and to near relatives orphans the needy and the wayfarer if ye do believe in Allah and in the revelation We sent down to Our servant on the day of testing the day of the meeting of the two forces.For Allah hath power over all
things.
33:26 And those of the people of the Book who aided them Allah did take them down from their strongholds and cast terror into their hearts (so that) some ye slew and some ye made prisoners.
*Prisoners release is possible either by
ransom,freeing by favour.But if they are enslaved then if they want freedom then they’ll have to buy it by making a contract where in a specified amount has to be paid by the slave to the master.The slave will be permitted to earn & save money .
Slaves will be treated according to their conduct because they come from the enemy camp.
8:70O apostle! say to those who are captives in your hands: "If Allah findeth any good in your hearts He will give you something better than what has been taken from you and He will forgive you: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful."
71But if they have treacherous designs against thee (o apostle!) they have already been in treason against Allah and so hath He given (thee) power over them and Allah is He who hath (full) knowledge and wisdom.
*Note:The captives can either remain slaves or freed.The decision is solely made by the khalifah/chief.
8:67It is not fitting for an apostle that he should have prisoners of war until he hath thoroughly subdued the land.Ye look for the temporal goods of this world; but Allah looketh to the hereafter; and Allah is Exalted in might Wise.
[Taking prisoners of war/slaves is permitted after subduding the land.]
Jizya/protection tax
9:29Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His apostle nor acknowledge the religion of truth (even if they are) of the People of the Book until they pay the Jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.
*Note:[These are the oppressors who themselves disbelieved & further oppressed the believers for their faith.They’re told to pay Jizya ,it is a protection tax,it cannot be taken from prisoners/slaves but from people living with freedom under Islamic law,they are called
Dhmmi’s]
A Deed In Writing (to enable them to earn their freedom for a certain sum)
24:33Let those who find not the wherewithal for marriage keep themselves chaste until Allah gives them means out of His grace.And if any of your slaves ask for a deed in writing
(to enable them to earn their freedom for a certain sum) give them such a deed if ye know any good in them; yea give them something yourselves out of the means which Allah has given to you.But force not your maids to prostitution when they desire chastity in order that ye may make a gain in the goods of this life.But if anyone compels them yet after such compulsion is Allah Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful (to them).
Investigate Carefully
4:94O ye who believe! when ye go abroad in the cause of Allah investigate carefully and say not to anyone who offers you a salutation: "Thou art none of a believer!"Coveting the perishable goods of this life: with Allah are profits and spoils abundant.Even thus were ye yourselves before till Allah conferred on you His favors: therefore carefully investigate for Allah is well aware of all that ye do.
*A note further:Non–muslim captives/slaves
if they accept Islam then they become muslim captives/slaves.]
4:5 O you who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you do believe in Allah and the Last Day; That is best, and most suitable for final determination.
*Note:[It’s the Khalifah [caliph] who will decide what to do with prisoners,whether they’ll be slaves or they’ll be freed or ransom should be taken to free them or to permit them to live under Islamic rule by taking Jizya[protection tax],The Khalifa will decide what to do with spoils of war,he distributes the spoils,property,slaves.
4:36Serve Allah and join not any partners with Him: and do good to parents kinsfolk orphans those in need neighbors who are near neighbors who are strangers the companion by your side the way-farer (ye meet) and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant the vainglorious;
*Note:[Right hands posses are muslims & nonmuslims regardless of any age group]
Be Kind To Non-Muslims.
60:8Allah forbids you not with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.
9Allah only forbids you with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith and drive you out of your homes and support (others) in driving you out from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances) that do wrong.
*Note:[Allah subhanawatala teaches Muslims to be good to all non-muslims]
2:256Let there be no compulsion in religion.Truth stands out clear from error; whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold that never breaks.And Allah heareth and knoweth all
things.
*Note:[With this verse its clear that none can force anyone to accept Islam hence no one can force slaves to accept Islam]
Human rights for slaves
76:8And they feed for the love of Allah the indigent the orphan and the captive
*Note:[Allah loves muslims who are good to indigents,orphans,captives]

50:8Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?
9And a tongue and a pair of lips?
10And shown him the two
highways?
11But he hath made no haste on the path that is steep.
12And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?
13(It is:) freeing the bondman;
14Or the giving of food in a day of privation
15To the orphan with claims of relationship
16Or to the indigent (down) in the dust.
17Then will he be of those who believe and enjoin patience (constancy and self-restraint) and enjoin deeds of kindness and compassion.
Freeing of Muslim slaves is given great importance as expiation of sins
4:92Never should a believer kill a believer; but (if it so happens) by mistake (compensation is due): if one (so) kills a believer it is ordained that he should free a
believing slave and pay compensation to the deceased's family unless they remit it freely.If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you and he was a believer the freeing of a believing slave (is enough).If he belonged to a people with whom ye have a treaty of mutual alliance compensation should be paid to his family and a believing slave be freed.For those who find this beyond their means (is prescribed) a fast for two months running: by way of repentance to Allah: for Allah hath all knowledge and all wisdom.
Note: (a)If by a believer by mistake kills another believer then free a believing slave & compensation to deseased family unless they remit it.
(b) .If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you and he was a believer the freeing of a believing slave (is enough).
(c) ).If he belonged to a people with whom ye have a treaty of mutual alliance compensation should be paid to his family and a believing slave be freed.
(d) .For those who find this beyond their means (is prescribed) a fast for two months running:
5:88Eat of the things which Allah hath provided for you lawful and good: but fear Allah in Whom ye believe.
89Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your oaths but He will call you to account for your
deliberate oaths: for expiation feed then indigent persons on a scale of the average for the food of your families; or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom.If that is beyond your means fast for three days.That is the expiation for the oaths ye have sworn.But keep to your oaths.Thus doth Allah make clear to you His Signs that ye may be grateful.
*Note:again freeing of slave .
58:2If any men among you divorce their wives by Zihar (calling them mothers) they cannot be their mothers: none can be their mothers except those who gave them birth.And in fact they use words (both) iniquitous and false: but truly Allah is one that blots out (sins) and forgives (again and again).
3But those who divorce their wives by Zihar then wish to go back on the words they uttered (it is ordained that such a one) should free a slave before they touch each other: this are ye admonished to perform: and Allah is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.
*Note:[Freeing of slave]
[an old Pagan custom: the formula was known as Zihar, and consisted of the words "Thou art to me as the back of my mother". This was hold by Pagan custom to imply a divorce and freed the husband from any responsibility for conjugal duties. Such a custom was in any case degrading to a woman. If Zihar were to be ignored as if the words were never uttered, it would mean that men may foolishly resort to it without penalty. It is therefore recognised in respect of the penalty which the man incurs, but safeguards the woman's rights. She can sue for maintenance for herself. If it was a hasty act and he repented of it, he could not claim his conjugal rights until after the performance of his penalty]
Marriage With Muslim Slaves Girls Only
25:54It is He Who has created man from water: then has He established relationships of lineage and marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things).
*Note:[One cannot have a relationship outside marriage]
33:50O prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts who
migrated (from Mecca) with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her this only for thee and not for the Believers (at large); We know what We have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hands possess in order that there should be no difficulty for Thee.And Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.
[One has to marry the slave & give dower .Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was permitted to marry as he used to marry to support women mainly widows,divorces,to unite clans etc]
33:52It is not lawful for thee (to marry more) women after this nor to change them for (other) wives even though their beauty attract thee except any thy right hand should possess (as handmaidens): and Allah doth watch over all things.
[Later Prophet Muhammad was commanded not to marry any freewomen but only slave
women later]
25: 32Those who reject Faith say: "Why is not the Qur'an revealed to him all at once?" Thus (is it revealed) that We may strengthen thy heart thereby and We have
rehearsed it to thee in slow well-arranged stages gradually.
33And no question do they bring to thee but We reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation (thereof).
*[Note”Because the Quran was revealed in stages hence previous injuction was to marry & later not to marry but only slave women].
4:24Also (prohibited are) women already married except those whom your right hands possess(women whom you rightfully possess,the captives of war).Thus hath Allah ordained (prohibitions) against you: except for these all
others are lawful provided ye seek (them in marriage) with gifts from your property desiring chastity not lust.Seeing that ye derive benefit from them give them their dowers (at least) as prescribed; but if after a dower is prescribed ye agree mutually (to vary it) there is no blame on you and Allah is All-Knowing All-Wise.
*Note:[Married muslim captive women who willingly agree to marry after the iddah
period]
2:221Do not marry unbelieving women (polytheists) until they believe; a slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman even though she allure you.Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: a man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever even though he allure you.Unbelievers do (but) beckon you
to the fire.But Allah beckons by His grace to the Garden (of Bliss) and forgiveness and makes His Signs clear to mankind: that they may celebrate His praise.
*Note:[Marrying unbelievers is not allowed in Islam whether male or female]
Forbidden to inherit women against their will
4:19O ye who believe! ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will.Nor should ye treat them with harshness that ye may take away part of the dower ye have given them except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity.If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.
*Note:[Its forbidden to inherit women against their will,whether freewomen or slave women,a slave woman can earn her freedom for a specified amount by mutual consultation between the slave and the master].
Force not your maids to prostitution

anyone compels them then even after such compulsion Allah subhanawatala is forgiving to such women.
4:25If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: and Allah hath full knowledge about your faith.Ye are one from another: wed them with the leave of their owners and give them their
dowers according to what is reasonable: they should be chaste not lustful nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock if they fall into shame their punishment is half that for free women.This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practice self-restraint: and Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful.
*note:[Ye are one from another means these captive/slaves are not different from free species ,they are common people,so they are not to be considered of low category or inferior.Marrying them is allowed.Just because they are slaves & do not have freedom ,if they fall into shame(adultery) their punishment half of the punishment of
freeperson.
Slaves as servants
24:58O ye who believe! let those whom your right hands possess and the (children) among you who have not come of age ask your permission (before they come to your presence) on three occasions before morning prayer; the while ye doff your clothes for the noonday heat; and after the late-night
prayer: these are your three times of undress: outside those times it is not wrong for you or for them to move about attending to each other: thus does Allah make clear the Signs to you: for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.
*Note:[The slaves or right hand posses are working ,doing household work]
War Among Muslims
49:9If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel make ye peace between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the other then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of Allah; but if it complies then make peace between them with justice and be fair: for Allah loves those who are fair (and just).
10The believers are but a single Brotherhood: So make peace and
reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers: And fear Allah that ye may receive Mercy.
*Note:[Believing slaves can be made from the loser’s side & their property can be taken as spoils of war.For ex,when Ali [r.a] refused to give spoils of war to khwarijites including everyone because ummul mumineen was among the defeated group & she could not be made a slave]
Finally slavery is not encouraged.The solution Allah gives in Quran is to free them .But what situation demands is most important,If muslims suffered heavy losses and they need man power to rebuild the infrastructure then they can make the prisoners as slaves and take work from them for specified purpose/time/work.If muslims feel providing equal status is heavy burden to economy then they can be freed for ransom or as favour .If they are rebellious then they can be killed.A khalifah or chief is the one who decides what should be done with the captures ones.Any or all the laws can be applied
depending upon the conditions of the state/captives etc.

This news reached Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) and he said: Set her free. They (the members of the family) said: There is no other servant except she. You still have some characteristics of ignorance. Your slaves are your brothers and Allah has put them under your command. So whoever has a brother under his command should feed him of what he eats and dress him of what he wears. Do not ask them (slaves) to do things beyond
their capacity (power) and if you do so, then help them.' "

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: It is essential to feed
the slave, clothe him (properly) and not burden him with work which is beyond his power.

Narrated byAbu Said Al Khudri We got female captives in the war booty and we used to do coitus interruptus with them. So
we asked Allah's Apostle about it and he said, "Do you really do that?" repeating the question thrice, "There is no soul that is destined to exist but will come into existence, till the Day of Resurrection."

Slaves Not Permitted to be Freed when a Slave must be Freed by Obligation
Malik related to me that he had heard that Abdullah ibn Umar was asked whether a slave could be bought on the specific condition that it was to be used to fulfil the obligation of freeing a slave, and he said, "No."
Malik said, "That is the best of what I have heard on the obligation of freeing slaves. Someone who has to set a slave free because of an obligation on him, may not buy one on the condition that he sets it free because if he does that, whatever he buys is not completely a slave because he has reduced its price by the condition he has made of setting
it free."
Malik added, "There is no harm, however, in someone buying a person expressly to set him free."
Malik said, "The best of what I have heard on the obligation of freeing slaves is that it is not permitted to free a christian or a jew to fulfil it, and one does not free a mukatab or a mudabbar or an umm walad or a slave to be freed after a certain number of years, or a blind person. There is no harm in freeing a christian, jew, or magian voluntarily, because Allah, the Blessed, the
Exalted, said in His Book, 'either as a favour then or by ransom,' (Sura 47 ayat 4) The favour is setting free."
Malik said, "As for obligations of freeing slaves which Allah has mentioned in the Book, one only frees a mumin slave for them."
Malik said, "It is like that in feeding poor people for kaffara. One must only feed muslims and one does not feed anyone outside of the deen of Islam."

Narrated byAl Miswar bin Makhrama and Marwan When the delegates of the tribe of Hawazin came to the Prophet he stood up amongst the people, glorified and praised Allah as He deserved, and said, "Then after: Your brethren have come to you with repentance and I see it logical to return to them their captives; so
whoever amongst you likes to do that as a favor, then he can do it, and whoever of you like to stick to his share till we give him hisright from the very first Fai (war booty) (1) which Allah will bestow on us, then (he can do so)." The people replied, "We do that (to return the captives) willingly as a favor for your sake."

Prohibition against Marrying Slave-Girls of the People of the Book
Malik said, "It is not halal to marry a christian or jewish slave-girl because Allah the Blessed, the Exalted, said in His Book, 'Believing women who are muhsanat and women of those who were given the Book before you who are muhsanat', (sura 5 ayat 6) and they are free women from the Christians and Jews. Allah, the Blessed, the Exalted, said in His Book, 'If you are
not affluent enough to marry believing women who are muhsanat, take believing slave-girls whom your right hands own.' " (Sura 4 ayat 24)
Malik said, "In our opinion, Allah made marriage to believing slave-girls halal, and He did not make halal marriage to christian and jewish slave-girls from the People of the Book."
Malik said, "The christian and jewish slave-girl are halal for their master by right of possession, but intercourse with a magian slave-girl is not halal by the right of
possession."
Al-Muwatta Hadith Hadith 28.40 Muhsanat
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab, and he had heard from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad that they said, "When a free man marries a slave-girl and consummates the marriage, she makes him
muhsan."Malik said, "All (of the people of knowledge) I have seen said that a slave-girl makes a free man muhsan when he marries her and consummates the marriage."Malik said, "A slave makes a free woman muhsana when he consummates a marriage with her and a free woman only makes a slave muhsan when he is freed and he is her husband and has had sexual relations with her after he has been set free. If he parts from her before he is free, he is not a muhsan unless he marries her after having been set free and he consummates the marriage."Malik said, "When a slave-girl is married to a free man and then he separates from her before she is set free, his marriage to her does not make her muhsana. She is not muhsana until she has married after she has been set free and she has had intercourse with her husband. That gives her ihsan. If she is the wife of a freeman and then she is set free while she is his wife before he separates from her, the man makes her muhsana if he has intercourse with
her after she has been set free."Malik said, "The christian and jewish free women and the muslim slave-girl all make a muslim free man muhsan when he marries one of them and has intercourse with her."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "There are four types of women with whom there can be no cursing: a Christian woman married to a Muslim, a Jewess married to a Muslim, a free woman married to a slave, and a slave woman married to a freeman."

Musaykah, a slave-girl of some Ansari, came and said: My master forces me to commit fornication. Thereupon the following verse was revealed: "But force not your maids to prostitution (when they desire chastity)."

Ali separated between a slave-girl and her child. The Prophet (peace be upon him) prohibited it and made the sale transactions withdrawn.

At the Battle of Hunayn Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) sent an army to Awtas and encountered the enemy and fought with them. Having overcome them and taken them captives, the Companions of Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) seemed to refrain from having intercourse with captive women because of their husbands being polytheists. Then Allah, Most High, sent down regarding that: "And women already married, except those whom your right hand possess (iv.24)" (i.e. they were lawful for them when their Iddah period came to an end).
*Note:Their Husbands were polytheists but they were not ,because Allah subhanawatala has forbidden marriage with polytheists .2:221.With this it was approved to marry ,married women provided they are war captives.

The people of (Banu) Quraiza agreed to accept the verdict of Sad bin Mu'adh. Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- En una expresión clara de falta absoluta de respeto a la pantomina electoral, cuyos resultados diseñados primero y amañados después han sido publicados hoy, la resistencia atacó varias bases militares de manera simultánea en el oeste de Iraq, informó hoy el Comando Central de las tropas estadounidenses de ocupación. Los rebeldes util! izaron mortero y fusiles automáticos contra esas instalaciones ubicadas en la localidad sunita de Ramadi, donde están alojadas fuerzas norteamericanas y de la Guardia Nacional iraquí. El comunicado del ejército invasor eludió ofrecer un balance de las posibles bajas en esos ataques coordinados ocurridos ayer.
Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- La Misión Internacional para las Elecciones Iraquíes (MIEI) reveló hoy que en los comicios legislativos del pasado 15 de diciembre en este país se registró un número indeterminado de fraudes. El informe precisa que se está en incapacidad de precisar el alcance de los fraudes y no menciona sus eventuales consecuencias por lo que no cuestionó el resultado final de la votación. Otro cúmulo de engaños debe de haber pasado inadvertidos muy probablemente y es imposible determinar el alcance exacto en las circunstancias actuales. Entre los elementos que facilitaron esa situación menciona la falta de organización, la falta de papeletas en algunos colegios electorales y problemas con las listas de los electores.
Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- El ministro iraquí de Salud, Abdul Hussein Al Bahadily, rechazó hoy la existencia de casos de gripe aviaria en este país, donde murió una adolescente de 14 años con síntomas similares a los del mal. Al Bahadily dijo a través de la televisora gubernamental Al Iraquiya qu! e no hay presencia del mal que afectada a la vecina Turquía. En una transmisión en directo, el ministro respondió a preguntas de la población que la adolescente Chinjin Abdel Kader murió ayer en el hospital de la localidad de Suleimaniya por una infección pulmonar de otro carácter.
Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- Tropas norteamericanas de ocupación emprendieron una nueva operación en la provincia occidental iraquí de Al Anbar, informó ayer la jefatura de esas fuerzas. El ejército estadounidense, que ya perdió a dos mil 221 soldados a lo largo de 34 meses de guerra, ataca sistemáticamente supuestos focos de la resistencia en la dirección este y nordeste. En esta oportunidad, alrededor de mil infantes de la 22 Unidad Expedicionaria de la Marina, con el auxilio de divisiones mecanizadas, combaten desde el pasado domingo a lo largo de la margen occidental del río Eufrates. Acordonamiento de zonas y registros casa por casa es el método empleado por el ejército invasor que causa un enorme sufrimiento en la población civil.

Granma/ inSurGente (Inti Tumaini).- Dos pilotos militares del Ejército de los Estados Unidos resultaron muertos cuando la guerrilla iraquí derribó el helicóptero que tripulaban en las cercanías de la ciudad septentrional iraquí de Mosul. El número de bajas entre la soldadesca yanqui continúa aumentando sin cesar.
Prensa Latina/ inSurGente.- El brigadier británico Nigel Aylwin-Foster denunció el racismo institucionalizado de las tropas estadounidenses participantes en la ocupación en Iraq, reveló ayer el diario The Guardian. De acuerdo con! esa publicación, Aylwin-Foster, segundo oficial de más alto rango involucrado en la preparación del ejército del nuevo gobierno iraquí, afirmó que los militares norteamericanos adolecen de moral y de capacidad para misiones contrainsurgentes. Las tropas estadounidenses cuentan con un optimismo infundado sobre el éxito de sus acciones en el ocupado estado árabe, declaró el brigadier británico a la revista norteamericana Military Review, citada por The Guardian.

Según un estudio de renombrados economistas, los gastos generados por la agresión armada al país árabe podrían ascender hasta los dos billones (dos millones de millones de dólares), casi el presupuesto federal de Estados Unidos en un año. El análisis, realizado por el Premio Nobel de Economía Joseph Stiglitz, profesor de la Universidad de Columbia, echa por tierra el discurso de la mansión ejecutiva acerca de que los gastos del despliegue de tropas serían controlables.
inSurGente.- Un helicóptero estadounidense Blackhawk se estrelló en el norte de Iraq y sus 12 ocupantes murieron, dijeron hoy fuentes del Ejército, que también anunciaron la muerte de otros cinco soldados norteamericanos en ataques del fin de semana. Las muertes tuvieron lugar cuando! la Policía iraquí anunció que un ingeniero francés, que había sido secuestrado, fue liberado por sus captores. El aparato, un Blackhawk UH-60, cayó justo antes de la medianoche a unos 12 kilómetros al este de Tal Afar, en el norte del país. Los militares dijeron que según los registros había a bordo ocho pasajeros y cuatro tripulantes.

Vines no hay infraestructura para apoyar los 220.000 efectivos de las unidades militares y policiales creadas al amparo de los EEUU. “Si los ministerios de Petróleo y de Electricidad no producen los ingresos suficientes para apoyar sus fuerzas de seguridad, los miembros de estas se revelarían o se incorporarían a milicias y bandas armadas". Así pues, Washington se encuentra a horcajadas sobre el abismo: la imposibilidad de mantener su propio reclutamiento y de prolongar demasiado la presencia en Iraq, y la incapacidad y fragilidad política de las fuerzas armadas iraquíes.
inSurGente.- La situación viene definida por unas elecciones organizadas y manipuladas por los ocupantes, y de resultados fraudulentos y postergados, que son rechazadas por la comunidad suní; una presencia militar norteamericana y británica que es abominada por la inmensa mayoría de la población; un gobierno títere identificado con los invasores; y una creciente resistencia armada que tiene, cada vez más, elementos geográficos, religiosos y étnicos de guerra civil. Tres semanas después de las elecciones de la “estabilización” la situación es peor que nunca. Entretanto, Bush lanza mensajes confusos entre el comienzo de la retirada parcial y la permanencia hasta que se cumplan los objetivos, y algunos análisis militares en los EEUU hablan de que se ha cometido el error estratégico de sobrepasar los recursos disponibles. Washington ya no tiene gran capacidad de respuesta salvo si recurre al reclutamiento obligatorio.
