Connaught (now Aventis) and NYMC were sued for $1.2 billion for
vaccine trial adverse effects.

After 2 vaccine shots, Marvin Fichter exhibited severe neurological
problems, and tested wildly positive for Lyme. Fichter was never
informed of those test results, and was told by Wormser that he had
Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and was put on Prednisone, an immune
suppressant, for 7 months. Fichter's serious neurological condition,
exacerbated by the vaccine and prednisone, put him in a wheelchair.
The suit was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

Wormser waited 7.5 months to report this adverse vaccine effect to
the FDA, calling it "coincidental."
