The EGP Othello tournament Paris 2009,
tenth stage of the European Grand Prix 2009,
will be played (in Paris, of course)
Saturday August 29th and Sunday August 30th.
The tournament will be somewhat special this year,
because there will be at least 5 Japanese players,
including Takeshi Murakami and Kyoko Takeda,
as well maybe as Makoto Suekuni and Kunihiko Tanida,
without even speaking of the reigning world champion, Michele Borassi!
I'll also take this opportunity to celebrate my "Silver Anniversary"
(25 years of tournament Othello) and I'm trying to gather as many
as possible of my old friends throughout the world.

VENUE
It will be the same venue as the last few years:
Bridge International
190 rue Lecourbe
75015 PARIS (15th "arrondissement", south-west of Paris)
You can access the tournament site by bus (lines 39, 62 or 80)
or by "Metro", station "Vaugirard" or "Convention", line 12.
When you are at 190 rue Lecourbe,
the tournament room is on the first floor but its entrance
is on the right in the inner square on the ground floor.

ACCOMODATION
Here are 3 suggestions among many solutions
for accomodation in Paris.
Solution 1:
There is now a "Formule 1" hotel inside Paris.
It's located Porte de Chatillon,
about 10 minutes walking from metro station
Porte d'Orleans, last station of line 4
(in the middle South of Paris).
It's not very distant from the tournament venue
but you need to take a bus and/or the metro.
You can book online
http://www.hotelformule1.com
(you can choose English if you get this page in French).
Then you need to enter the hotel code, which is 5010.
Then follow instructions for choosing the
dates and the number of rooms.
You'll have to give a credit card number.
And you will need the SAME credit card to be able
to enter the hotel even if it's late when you arrive
(there is nobody at the reception after 8p.m. or something).
The price of the hotel is 39 euros for one room.
It's the same price if you are 1 or 2 in the room
(but they don't allow 3 persons per room here).
There are two single beds per room.
There are no toilets nor shower inside the room (only a sink)
but toilets and showers are available outside the room.
You can have breakfast for 3,70 euros each.
There is a 10% discount on the room if you book
30 days before (which is maybe today).
Solution 2:
Aloha hostel (very close to the tournament location)
1 rue Borromée
75015 PARIS (15th "arrondissement", south-west of Paris)
Their website is
http://www.aloha.fr/
And if you click on "Come in", you'll get to this page in English:
http://www.aloha.fr/eng-hostel.html
They have dormitoriums from 4 to 8 people
and it's 25 euros per person per night including breakfast
or 28 euros in double rooms.

fax: +33 (0)1.42.73.14.14
mail: friends@...
You can find other hostels here:
http://www.hiphophostels.com/
(some Dutch players stayed at the "3 ducks" hostel last year:
http://www.3ducks.fr
not very far either from the tournament site).
Solution 3:
(maybe not very easy if you don't have a car)
ETAP Hotel
12, rue Jacques-Henri Lartigue
92130 ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX
The normal rate is 49 euros for a room (single,
twin/double or triple) for 1 night
but there is a summer offer (Flexy) for only 42 euros for 1 night
with facilities in the room.
http://www.etaphotel.com/etaphotel/fichehotel/gb/etp/2596/fiche_hotel.shtml
Breakfast (4,70 euros per person) is not included.
Let me know if you have any question.
Espero de veros todos a Paris,
Marc Tastet.
